I am the original owner of this 2005 Saturn Ion. The body is in excellent shape with a perfect working sunroof. The vehicle has 149,424 miles on it however a new (used)motor was put in 06/2010. The new (used) motor has approximately 80,000 miles on it. The motor has a tapping sound and when I took it to the mechanic they said it needed a new motor. The vehicle starts, runs and drives but the tapping is louder when accelerated. The motor ran low on oil after an oil change (leaked at gasket); instead of my daughter pulling over, she turned the radio up!! :) I decided not to put a new motor in the vehicle. I was recently contacted by the dealership reference a recall on the ignition. The part has not been replaced and the recall is still valid. On occasion the key would stick in the ignition and after 30 seconds the ignition would release the key (a common issue with the Ion).
