Vehicle Detail

1962 Honda Dream 305 CA77 300cc Frame VIN; ca77-22933 Engine VIN; ca77e-212992 No Title. Bill of Sale Only. Up for auction is my 1962 Honda Dream. The bike is in very original condition, and runs and drives like….a Dream! I have recently gone through the bike and did the following; -new tire tubes -adjusted and lubed drive chain -new battery -new battery terminals -replaced many wires and connections -new spark plug wires and caps -new spark plugs -replaced clutch cable -New clutch plates -fresh oil -cleaned out/flushed gas tank -new fuel hose and filter -new petcock -completely disassembled and thoroughly cleaned the carburetor -timing/points adjusted The bike starts with an electric starter or kick starter, idles well, drives well, shifts through all the gears smoothly, and stops well.  Somebody before me took out the key switch and installed a toggle, so there is no key to the bike, and no need for one now. I’m assuming it was the same person that also rigged a starter button on the side of the bike. Both of these things can easily be removed and replaced with the correct parts very easily. The correct wiring is still in the headlight shell.  I am disclosing every issue with this bike so there will be no surprises for the new owner. This bike is an unrestored example of a 52+ year old motorcycle and does show its age in places. The paint is original and has faded, and there is surface rust here and there, with the worst part being near the rear fender area, under the taillight, but the frame is otherwise straight and solid. There are some small oil leaks at the crankcase covers, so I would recommend new gaskets. The chrome is original, to my knowledge, and has polished up nicely, but there are some pitted areas on the mufflers, and in various other spots as well. The tires will need to be replaced, as does the headlight bulb. Overall, the bike has some bumps and bruises, and a few scars, buy hey, it’s an original piece of motorcycle history that gets a lot of attention, and is a blast to ride! You can ride it like it is, or use it as a base for a complete restoration. I’ve taken it this far; the rest is up to you!
