Vehicle Detail
** NO RESERVE ** Please read entire description before bidding. Contact me first if you have zero or negative feedback please. I recently bought this car with the plans to freshen it up but also came across another project that now is taking up my garage space. I'd rather not store the 240 this winter. It has lots of positives; - It's the manual 5 speed (which is very rare in a late model 240 wagon)- Low miles 123K- Service book stamped by dealer through 80K miles- Literally every receipt since new (has to be an inch stack of receipts)- Clutch done at 80K- Clean Carfax - no accidents- No CEL or other lights lit- Map pockets intact.- Recent steering rack replacement- Recent timing belt and water pump- Very minimal rust Fairly well optioned - heated seats, power mirrors, power windows - AC that works. It's not without it's flaws tho; - Paintwork below the belt line on passenger side and tailgate - likely due to a scratch down that side of the car.- Needs front tires- Rear brakes squeak/rumble a little - Numerous dings and scratches- AC sweats when running (small water puddle on drivers floor)- Runs fantastic but at idle it has a little sputter (likely just a tune up)- Interior could use a good cleaning- Clock and central locking fuse is out b/c it drains the battery (looks like there is a wire in the hatch hinge that broke - I suspect that it has something to do with that) It was just inspected in MA So it's good for another year (good until the end of August 2015). The garage that inspected it mentioned that a good percentage of these cars fail because of the rust/rot on the rear suspension - he said this car was in excellent shape in that regard. Passed the inspection just fine. Anyway, it's either sell it or store it. I don't want to waste anyone's time - if you are looking for a perfect one - this is not it. If you are looking for one that has low miles and a 5-speed and will probably run another 200K that needs some work while you drive it - this may be it. Sold as-is where-is. Thanks! On Sep-06-14 at 09:09:36 PDT, seller added the following information: As requested, here are the pictures of the inside bottoms of all doors, the sills for all door openings and both rockers. The second to the last photo shows the blistering under the paint on the front driver's side sill. On Sep-07-14 at 13:53:49 PDT, seller added the following information: One more update - I just got back from 130 miles round trip with the car and used the AC the whole way. Although it works fine when I got home both the drivers side and passenger side carpets were wet. Something is sweating pretty bad. Please keep this in mind when bidding as it will need to be addressed. I knew it sweat but not having owned the car very long I never used the AC as long as I did today. Just want folks to know.On Sep-08-14 at 15:53:21 PDT, seller added the following information: And another update. I was asked for undercarriage photos. I don't have a lift so did my best. Floors are solid. I looks to me like one of the rear control arms (I think that's what they are called) was replaced - the other one has not and has some surface rust on it. Lots of questions on the car - sorry if I am not keeping up as quick as the questions come in. At the end of the day it's a 21 year car. It has it's bumps and bruises and its not perfect by any means. I think I have represented it as good as I can. Far from perfect but I think I have covered the good and bad the best I can.
