I purchased the car from the estate of Eric Hoopingarner who was an SCCA racer in the 1960s. He set up the car and drive it regularly (up to about 17xxx miles). I bought the car from the estate in 2010 and have enjoyed it since. The car has a 289/305ci that was built, balanced and blueprinted by Crescenta Valley Ford Specialists in La Crescenta, CA. The documents with the car say that it puts out 388hp. I have not done any significant work on the car other than changing the oil and filters, replacing the battery and washing it. VERY COOL CAR. The car has a stainless steel 427 chassis. Halibrand knock-offs. Wilwood brakes. The body has a nice patina that adds to the look. The owner registered the car in CA under SB 100. It was registered there until 2010 - when I brought it back to Michigan. The car was stored in a heated garage. The CA Vin is CA966946. Feel free to ask any questions. Mike 248-641-1211. What does the car need? Nothing that I am aware of other than the prior owner removed the carpet in the footwell area. I did not replace it. So if you want carpet there, you'll need that. Damage? There is a stone chip in the front near the driver side headlight. I took a picture of it - see flikr. Also, there is a very small dent in the trunk. It is hard to see so I never repaired it. I tried to take some pictures of it (see flikr) but it is not easy to see. There is some oxidation on the body since it is aluminum.
