Vehicle Detail
This car underwent a "rotisserie" restoration in the 1980's and went on to win an AACA Junior, Senior, and Grand National First Prize in the mid 1990's according to the previous owner. The body and undercarriage appear to be in very good condition. Fenders are all steel and in excellent condition. No rust evident in the usual vulnerable areas such as the lower part of the cowl, spash aprons, area just below rumble seat. Chrome is overall very good to excellent except for minodr pieces such as the cowl light brackets, which are lightly pitted. Since purchasing the car a year ago I have made the following improvements. Turn signals installed in cowl lights and tail lights. Quartz halogen bulbs and new reflectors in headlights. All new wiring using correct harness. Six volt alternator installed (have the generator). Shorter pitman arm and teflon inserts installed in tie rods and drag link for easier steering. Front brakes reworked. All new brake rods. Service brake cross shaft professionally rebuilt. The dash and the window garnishes on the doors and the rear window professionally woodgrained (as they should be on a Deluxe Coupe).(Note: for some reason the woodgrained trim does not show well in the photos). Automatic fuel line shutoff installed to eliminate need to raise the hood to turn the gas off. Tires are good. This car has always been registered in Pennsylvania, which is surprising given how solid it is. My understanding is that the previous owner bought it from the original owner in about 1975. Thus, I believe I am the third owner. The car is very attractive. Upon seeing it for the first time, the most frequent comment by folks is "Oh, how cute!" The 1980's paint is in surprisingly good condition. Upon close inspection there are a couple places whereit has been touched up but I wouldn't consider repainting it. The mohair interior was replaced during the original restoration and is in very good condition. The rumble seat area appears to be in very good condition. The seat was recovered with the correct material. The car starts right up and drives like a 80+ year old Model A. Although the front brakes have been considerably improved during the past year, in my opinion the left rear brake should be refurbished. It currently has a worn out bushing. There is also a flaw in the wiring to the horn that I haven't had time to track down. The old floormat is cracked and should be replaced. I am selling the car after owning it only a year due to recent health issues. I have set the reserve considerably lower than my investment in the car. Feel free to ask questions. I'll give you honest answers (see my ebay rating). The car is located in NW Pennsylvania (Saegertown) about 30 miles south of Erie, a couple miles off I-79. Successful bidder must pay $500 down (non-refundable) within 48 hours of close of auction. Balance due within 7 days and must be paid before car is picked up. I had the car transported in an enclosed carrier and I'll be glad to provide details if requested. All transportation costs are the responsibility of the buyer. As you would expect for an 80+ year old vehicle, there is no warranty.
