Vehicle Detail
This truck had been stored inside a semi trailer for 25 years prior to my purchasing it in Oct 2013, and has been kept inside my barn since. My plan was to do a complete off chassis restoration but due to a serious health issue this past Jan, I've had to nix that plan. I've decided to sell this vehicle and let someone else enjoy it and return it to it's beauty and greatness. They don't make vechiles like this anymore and it would be a shame to keep it locked up any longer. This truck is in very good condition and has had prior restoration done. It appears that rusted areas have been cut out and metal replaced and minimal body filler. The floors, cowl, corners, doors, finders, roof are all solid with a little bubbling around some seams. The work that has been done looks to have been done professtionally by someone that knew what they where doing. The bed floor is badly rusted and needs attention. All the glass is in good shape with no cracks and very, very little fogging or bubbling. The door hinges and latches, window and door handles, the side window and wing window hardware are all in good working condition as is the cowl vent door and hardware. However could use new door, wing window and side window moldings. As stated above the brakes do no work but I put the truck up on jack stands and went through the gears (3 on the tree) and let it run at around 2500 RPMs for over two hours and the engine, transmission and rear end ran smooth with no knocking, grinding, smoking or heating issues. All the dash gauges appear to be in good working order. It has the original 6 volt system but has a 12 volt AM/FM Cassette radio that is powered by a 12 volt lawn mower battery (now dead) behind the seat The odometer reads 46,697 miles. I purchased this truck in a small farming community and assume it was used as a farm truck and the milage may or may not be original. Who knows ??. There is a local high school parking permit on the windshield so it may have been a family owned farm truck. Again, who knows ??. The pictures enclosed should give you a good idea of it's condition and inquire if more info is needed. Thank You for looking at my posting.
