Vehicle Detail

Parts or Project car (salvage title): Lots of $ in repairs by both me and the previous owner (from FL) - now I'm done with it. I have many receipts for the work done by me and the previous owner and will hand those over to the buyer. Major work done includes transmission overhaul, radiator replacement at 130k miles. Except for the clear coat burned off much of the hood and a few minor dings, body is in very good condition. Back seat and cargo area are also in very good condition. NOTE: There is no evidence that I can see for whatever caused the salvage condition - that occurred in April 1996 when the car was still quite new. Current situation:The car leaks lots of oil Check engine light is onFan doesn't work (although you can feel heat and A/C from vents)Needs WS Wipers, right front blinker not working (can't get the connection to hold)Front seats/carpets torn My guess is that the tires are 60%-70% worn/ spare seems to be in excellent shape.Brakes are squeaky... about a year ago Firestone told me they were about 50% wornRear gate hydraulic arms need replacing (gate will not stay up by itself)Did not pass GA emission test this year. The car runs but is very sluggish and consumes a lot of gas My mechanic gave me the following estimate for engine work:1) Complete tune-up2) Replace intake manifold gasket3) Replace power steering line/hose4) Replace valve cover gaskets (both banks)5) Replace exhaust manifold gaskets (both)6) Replace front crankshaft seal7) Replace oil pan gasket He does mainly engine work! I suspect there are problems with the suspension - maybe with the transmission but it might be shifting funny because of the engine issues.Email me if you need more info. On Aug-17-14 at 16:57:11 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 8/17:Based on a question via email: Can the car be driven at 50+ mph? Following is my response: I took it out today and it wasn't good. I went up to 60 on the highway but the problem is it revs really high. 6k rpms to maintain 60mph. I didn't want to push it because 6k is already on the red zone. The best way I can explain it is that it seems not to be shifting - that it stays in 1st or 2nd gear - or it shifts erratically. If I shift it manually there is no shift "response" from 1st to 2nd. There is from 2nd to drive.... I'm not an expert, but it seems to be a problem with the transmission. It's very sluggish to get off from a dead stop and going up hills. There was some smoke on the way back - I'm guessing from the oil that is leaking and dripping on to the engine or suspension. Here is GA it was 92-93 degrees today. In my opinion the car is not drivable except for a short distance. I've only been using it for 1-2 mile errands at low speed. Another thing... I put $10 worth of gas (about 2.8 gals) and it sucked it down within the 20 miles that I drove it.
