PURCHASED FROM ORIGINAL OWNERS FAMILY. LAST TAGGED IN 1976. been sitting since the seventies with only 13 miles being put on the bike after the owners son got it. the title shows 4958 miles at time of transfer in 2002.. it is by no means in great cosmetic condition but it is not a total roach either. as shown in one photo ,overspray occurring on the front fender. this was on the tank also, I spent a little time on the tank & it looks pretty good. rims will clean-up , spokes are a bit rough.. THE BIKE SAT FOR DECADES IN A CARPORT WITH ONE SIDE EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS SO ONE SIDE IS WORSE THAT THE OTHER. I HAVE STARTED THE BIKE UP USING MY R90 FUEL TANK AND DID A SHORT TRIP. THE MOTOR, TRANSMISSION & REAR END WORK AS DESIGNED. I CHANGED ALL THE FLUIDS AS WELL AS LUBED THE REAR SPLINES WHICH LOOKED GREAT. >> SPEEDO/ ODOMETER & TACH ALL WORK. THE TANK WAS FREAKIN' NASTY & I SPENT A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME CLEANING & THEN SEALING THE INTERIOR WITH CASWELLS. IT DID NOT LEAK PRIOR TO THE CLEANING. I PULLED THE KNEE PAD RUBBER OFF TO INSPECT AS THAT AREA IS PRONE TO HOLDING WATER & RUSTING FROM BEHIND THE RUBBER. I could not save the petcocks. new ethanol resistant floats would be in order as well as a hard look see at the existing carb parts . these have the pumpers integral with the carbs and replacement of some of those items would be prudent. . foot peg rubbers show little to no wear. SO , ****** YOU WILL NEED FOR THIS LOW MILE / 600 CC BMW" PETCOCKS, CARB RE-BUILD, FLOATS, SOME TIME DEDICATED TO CLEANING & THE CORRECT BATTERY. . THE POINTS & CAPACITOR ARE NEW. VALVE ADJUSTMENT IS DONE. LOOKS AS THO THE TIRES WERE REPLACED WHEN THE SON GOT IT IN 2002. BRAKES CINCH & RELEASE AS DESIGNED. PIVOT POINTS HAVE BEEN LUBED.. RIMS ARE STRAIGHT & TRUE. .
