Vehicle Detail
1969 Camaro Coupe with clear title, VIN matches dash panel tag. No reserve auction, To be sold to high bidder. Successful bidder to deposit $500 via PayPal within 48 hours. Payment in full before title and vehicle transferred. Please ask any questions before bidding, not after winning auction. This is a driver quality car that probably needs some TLC, it is not fully restored. Like most used cars of this age it has good and bad points about it. This is not a fully restored car and so please do not bid on it if you really want a restored car. 1969 vintage Chevy 350 4 bolt block (NOM) overhauled with about 40K miles on it. 10 over on rods, mains, pistons, ect. Period correct intake, Q-jet carb, heads, brackets. HEI and new full length dual exhaust . Turbo 350 tranny. Has a cruising gear 2.73 (BP code) rear end. Has3/8 fuel line W/return and BBC front coil springs. Has Subframe connectors. New 205/70/15 front tires on 7” wide rally wheels in front and used 225/70/15 rear tires on 8” wide rally wheels in rear.Norwood CA Cowl tag shows 4th week of August ‘68 build (1969 Camaro build before December 1968 did NOT have X-code info on Cowl tag). Code 72 B was Hugger Orange with Black vinyl top, code 712 Black Deluxe Custom interior. Bucket seats not original are later highback style. Rear seat original with new 69 Camaro cover. Original Deluxe Door panels so-so. All windows roll up/down OK but rear handles need replacement. Factory Original Soft-Ray tinted glass all around except windshield new modern tinted glass. Dash has woodgrain option and aftermarket replacement gauge cluster front of console. 2-speed washer-wiper option. Functional Alpine stereo typical discount store garbage. Both Shoulder belts are hanging correctly up along headliner, usually these are stolen for use in hi-point resto cars. Yes it is a TH350 it has the tranny pan with the RR corner a diagonal cut. Needs correct Turboglide indicator installed in console. It has a 1.125" OD front sway bar instead of the usual spindly.685" stock one. The floors appear to be repaired long ago with full length left and right floor halves installed. The hood has a little nasty an old battle scar. see pix. The rockers look reel solid side and bottom but the drivers side has a short crease again an old battle scar. The underside of the doors and trunk lid look good see pix. The doglegs in doorjam, pass side looks good drivers side one little 1/4" rusty spot. There are a good pair of correct O/S rearview mirrors on the car. The washer squirters are still there another item usually missing. The paint is dark gray with black 'Z-28' style striping on front header, hood, cowl, rear window panel, trunk lid, and spoiler. There are numerous small scratches and paint chips here and there as it has been painted some time ago. There are a couple of other spots with pictures attached. Please view the pictures carefully not on your cellphone, but on a full size computer screen. Using a small magnet I find both the front fenders and both the lower rockers are good metal, I think the front fenders have been replaced. The drivers side lower 1/4 panel has a professional grade splice at the body line view-able from the inside the trunk. So the lower 1/2 of this quarter panel has been replaced and so there is filler at the body reveal. The rest of the left lower 1/4 seems solid but has some filler here and there also a small damaged spot behind rear tire.. The pass side also has some filler here and there but seems to be original? Both sides the trunk lower inner rear extension has some typical minimal rust (behind rear tires)but still quite acceptable. The doors seem quite solid. Car was in storage quite some time so it behooves the purchaser to properly inspect & prepare this car for roadworthy travel. My intentions were to rebuild car with 2004 5.3L LM7 Chevy Silverado engine and Tremec 6 speed tranny but time is running out for that happening. Please bid conservatively to buy, not bid to inspect...i don't need a trigger happy bidder who ruins the auction for all others by bidding higher than can be afforded. My advice is if you want a perfect looking fresh resto that doesn't need a thing done to it you won't be at all happy with this car. Just be prepared to pay for top quality but if you want just a driver that could be fun and not too expensive, drive it and fix a few things yourself, please consider my car. Full payment is required within 14 days of auction close. Thank you for viewing my listing. On Aug-15-14 at 13:52:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Added 3 pixs as person asked question about vinyl top...also i read several other vehicle listings with note to the effect that it is always better to preview vehicles personally before purchase...i have posted pixs of both 'good' and 'bad' to the best of my remedial photo expertise...the deposit is NOT refundable. Better that a lower bid by someone that wins the auction and is happy with this vehicle than a higher bid by a remorseful bidder wishing for a restored car. Thank you for viewing my vehicle for sale.
