Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 90% restored 1971 Honda CT90 Trail 90. One of the best bikes Honda ever built. Has high/low range gearbox. A 200 lb. man can haul a deer out of the woods on one of these. Please see two sale "conditions" at end of ad before considering bidding. Story on this bike. I restore Triumph 650 and small cc Hondas (50, 70, and 90cc) models from 60's and 70's. Customer brought bike to me 8 years ago. Never paid anything towards restoration and cannot pay for work done. There is no title but bike is free and clear. I rebuilt everything on this. Engine has new piston and rings. Cylinder didn't need bored because of low miles. It actually didn't need a new piston but I always put new pistons in my Honda engine jobs. Valve job done....they are seated perfectly. Clutch needed nothing except adjusting. My engines do not leak. Wheels were disassembled. New bearings and seals on both wheels, spokes "walnut shelled" primered and painted as they had slight corrosion. Spokes relaced and retrued to new 17" chrome rims. New tubes and Cheng Shin dual purpose (dirt/road) tires installed. Tires are 3.00 X 17 which I always use for better ride. Shocks are original but polished. Front forks gone over and new oil put in. Transmission is perfect. High/low range works perfect. New type ignition switch. Handlebar switches work. The 1971 K3 Trail 90 was first year for black exhaust. It was bad so I am including a good K2 exhaust pipe. Buyer can paint with semi gloss heat paint. Exhaust shield for lower exhaust pipe included. Buyer will have to purchase muffler heat shield. I have anything not shown such as battery box. Buyer will have to order the 6 volt battery. The center plastic housing was cracked. It will need replaced. They are hard to find in original condition as most have cracked or split. I have in past used the old style vinyl sheath with velcro around center column to cover cables which looks fine. I can direct buyer how to do it if interested. It is the way the CT90's came in earlier models. Bike has new peg rubbers. Rear rack sandblasted and painted. Side cover is original repainted. It is the heavy duty one not one of the cheap Taiwan replacements...parts I refuse to use on my restorations. Carb is original and was rebuilt. Has high altitude compensation knob. Needs a rectifier. If I can dig one in my spare parts supply I will include as well as anything else. I have about 60 hours labor in this bike. Frame was completely taken down so it could be painted Honda Red. Bike is as good as it was new but needs finished. Longer plug wire is also needed. This immaculate Trail 90 can be seen prior to bidding if arrangements cleared by me. It is in Youngstown, OH (midway between Pittsburgh and Cleveland). TWO IMPORTANT POINTS: 1) I will hold bike , free of any fees, for up to 90 days while buyer either secures shipping or makes arrangements to pick up. 2) Total PayPal payment must be made immediately after auction end. Thank you for looking. I will be listing numerous NOS Triumph Tiger Cub 200cc parts over weekend....all at a low initial bid.
