Vehicle Detail
Here's a rare opportunity to own a very tastefully customized 1960 El Camino. The lines on this car are nothing short of amazing. This is a running, registered car, titled in California, in my name. My goal was to have a nice, usable example of a early 60's mild Kustom that could be used to haul my 1950's Triumphs around, so we didn't get to wild with the customization. The paint is 1960's 'Prairie Bronze' color with a 'Midnight Black' roof and the interior is black leather/black tweed tuck and roll. The steering wheel, Lokar floor shift boot, armrests, and package tray are all wrapped in high end black leather. Vinyl was used on the headliner and tonneau cover for durability. The original 283 motor has been rebuilt and delivers power via a fresh Turbo 350 transmission. Tires are Coker radial whitewalls and have lots of tread, and rims are painted gloss black. Fuel is delivered through a brand new Edelbrock carb with an understated satin black Edelbrock air cleaner, and almost everything under the hood is satin or glass black. The glass is original and there are no cracks, all window gaskets are brand new Steele Rubber, and all stainless around the glass and vent windows have been professionally restored. I've got well over $20k into this car. This is by far the rarest year of El Camino made- only 14,163 1960 El Caminos were built, and only a fraction of those still exist. This El Camino is literally a 1960 Impala Coupe from the doors forward, with the convenience and utility of a truck bed. Perfect car swap meets, camping, hauling a vintage travel trailer, etc. I've been told by Chevy experts that this car was built in the Los Angeles factory. These cars are rarely available in running condition, and almost none are as tastefully customized as this one. The wiring may need some work- everything worked before it went in for paint and interior, but now the headlights aren't working and I don't have the time to troubleshoot it. I know I'll regret selling this car, but it's too nice to park outside, and my vintage motorcycles have dibs on the garage. I can arrange for shipping anywhere in the US or Internationally, but the funds must clear prior to any shipping arrangements being made.On Aug-12-14 at 08:56:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Just wanted to add a few things here- THERE IS NO RUST, RUST OUTS, or RUST BUBBLES anywhere on the body of the car. ALL off the stainless trim/moulding was removed from the car and I can assure you there is no rust under any of it. This is a true Southern California car and it shows!I have a brand new (still in the box) Sony CD Player with ipod input along with 4 brand new speakers (two 6x9"s, and two 6 1/4"s) for the El Camino. I never got around to installing it, so I'll include it with the car.I have many spare parts for the car including a spare gas tank and an extra pair of doors. The doors and gas tank are one year/one model only, so they are very hard to find if you ever need one. All extra parts, including the aluminum 'airplane' side trim and other misc. body trim will be included.
