2001 Volvo V70 T5 WagonDesirable & Rare 5 Speed Manual Transmission! I am leaving the country this month to go back to Scotland and that the only reason for me selling my Volvo, while not showroom perfect, this car has been a joy to own and run, its never let me down (even during the last crazy winter we had). I spent many months looking for one of these and the automatic transmission models are just plagued with too many problems. This one has the manual transmission which is a lot of fun and of course very reliable. While not the full on R model, the T5 is very fast with its turbo-charged engine, while still being very economical to run and insure. I haven't had the time to get the car fully detailed or get the little problems (which I listed below), sorted out as I have no time due to the move. As such, its at no-reserve, I just need her gone before I leave. Good PointsIts a manual wagon, which are of course, is the holy grail for car enthusiastsLovely 5 cylinder turbo-charged engine which are known to be able to run star-ship mileagesSafe as houses, airbags galore and feels very planted on the roadPaint is very bright and shiny, no pealing clear coatAll the toys including very comfy, lovely leather seatsTires are basically new (maybe 2500 miles on them) and come with a extended warranty from Tire BarnBattery is about a year oldHad a reconditioned alternator fittedLast owner had a major service which included the timing beltIncludes a Volvo VADIS device so full repair and inspections can be carried out at home with just a laptopHuge amount of room in the back, fold the passenger seats down for a flat load space and it can a crazy amount of items.Minor ProblemsSo the main one is the title as it was involved in a small collision and by small, I mean very small. When I received the car it had a small dent in the fender, hood and the light was cracked. So an OEM light later, the bump out of the fender just left the hood which I threw a bit of bondo and spray paint on and called it a day. And yes, by the quality of the work on the hood, it actually looks like I just threw it on there, I spent no time at all on it as I just....well didn't have the time. I had some quotes around $300 to make it look new, but its never really been a huge concern for me. The rebuilt title was given by the insurance company as generally a car that is over 10 years old, has over 100,000 miles and would require a full repaint ($4200) to bring to as new, is not worth repairing. Of course, from the pictures you can see the car does not need a full repaint, just the hood worked on.Hand brake is not working, my local mechanic said it needs new brake shoes, since I live in flat Indiana its not been a concern.Passenger door does not open from the inside (simple fix)Rear passenger door lock is a little slow to open up at times (simple fix)Minor evaporation leak warning, I replaced the petrol cap with a cheap AutoZone one after once in a while I would get the warning, now with the new cap its on all the time so it probably needs the proper Volvo oneThe auto dimming rear view mirror needs the glass replaced (its in a constant DIM state) (simple fix or leave as is, never bothered me)The odd parking ding, see the picturesA couple of marks on the dashHighlights (Taken from the Volvo Brochure)T5 (250 BHP) - This turbocharged in-line five-cylinder 2.3-litre petrol engine yields very high torque over most of the engine speed range. With the minor issues listed above, that would probably take no longer than a couple of days to correct, you would have a car that looks and drives far more than you paid. After owning this car I love Volvo's and when I move Ill certainly have another V70.
