BMW R27 1965 in almost perfect condition , runs perfectly usually starts in a few kicks. 250 cc single cylinder everything appears original serial numbers match. Odometer reads 10590 miles and counting (not km) and appears to be original but not guaranteed. Paint is in pristine condition which appears to be too perfect for its age. I know that the previous owner who owned it since 1999 had not restored or painted the bike. Cylinder has been blasted and repainted black in 1997 The bike has sat since 1999 as a studio display piece and only run a few times in that period. Engine, transmission, final drive oils have just been changed. Gas line and filter have been replaced. Bike is a shaft drive which uses a flexible "hardy" disk as a universal joint. That flexible disk just crumbled to pieces with age and has just been replaced. Wheel bearings are smooth and been re-greased drum breaks are in great condition and look to be almost new. Tires still have the molding marks. I have put over a hundred miles on the bike with out problem. Tank looks in perfect condition with liner intact. Throttle is in perfect condition I have just cleaned all parts. Throttle has been adjusted and now idles perfectly. Spark Plug was in good condition and was not replaced. One issue is the trip odometer which does not work . The odometer does work and appears accurate along with speedometer judging by gps and road side speed notifiers. I have replaced some of the rubber grommets an there are others that could be also replaced. The suspension rides nice very comfortable it takes the bumps like a dream. Rear view mirror OEM replaced in 97 needs a tightening nut . The rubber seat has some age cracks but is still very use able. I do not have the steering column key but is available on EBay for $20. Most of these parts are available still today. I can provide any other pictures upon demand. I can also send a short video of the bike riding by. Engine sounds great. The wheels are original and are light alloy steel. I know the spokes have been replaced with stainless steel in 1992 . I have parts and service documents back to 1992. Service manuals can be found on line .
