Hello, you are viewing my 1979 280sl Mercedes (European model) with only 98,433 miles. This car has been garaged most of its life and it shows! Also has the very desirable small European bumpers, the rectangle euro headlights and the 2.8 euro motor. This Mercedes is in WONDERFUL condition that is well maintained.The paint, Silver/Blue, had a new re-spray a few years back with a base/clear paint (above average driver quality), all chrome and most rubber was removed prior to painting, door jambs were also painted at that time. There are a couple of chips/scratches since it has been done 1,000 miles ago. I do not see any visible rust (very straight and solid) The blue interior is in excellent. No rips or tears. The seats have been re-covered (excellent condition), dash does have a couple of cracks. Sun visors are in great condition(newer). The wood has a couple of cracks/chips (overall very nice finish) door panels are in great condition, headliner and carpet are also in great condition. Also has power windows and remote door locks. The soft top is a couple of years old and is as new.The hardtop is in excellent condition including the headliner. Mechanically the car is EXCELLENT!!!!!!! Runs, drives and shifts perfect with no warning lights on. I personally think that the euro 2.8 liter engine is one of the best, most fun, high revving, long lasting motors that MB has produced (I also own a euro 5.0 and a 3.5 v8 that I am comparing it to) Everything works as it should. The heat blows hot and the air conditioner blows cold (just had AC serviced and replaced a new AC line ) Tires are excellent with less than a 1000 miles on them; wheels and hub caps are in great condition. This MB drives very smooth and straight at a 100mph. I would not hesitate to drive this car on a 2000 mile road trip. THE CONDITION OF THIS CAR CAR LOOKS LIKE IT IS NOT EVEN 5 YEARS OLD. This 280sl is in above average condition that is very dependable and well maintained. ALSO INCLUDED IN THE SALE IS THE ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL, SPARE TIRE AND THE MEDICAL KIT. The car is sold in “As Is Condition”. I do welcome and encourage presale inspections. I am a car collector and it is time to pass it on to another collector (I am also selling my 1977 euro 350SLC with a rare,standard 4 speed transmission, and only 20,xxx miles on it and my cl55 amg).
