Vehicle Detail
For sale is a beautiful all original 1935 Studebaker President. This car is in truly amazing shape and must be seen to be appreciated. I purchased the car many years ago out of a barn in rural Arizona. It had been in dry storage for more than 50 years. The car has a very unusual past and was believed to have been used in California by a notorious gang member. The car was in a gun fight at some time (puportedly in the late 1930's) and has three bullet holes in the glass-one in the winshield and two in the rear on the drivers side (none in the body) all clearly aimed at someone in the backseat. Their is also a blood stain on the back seat and a large blood stain on the floor of the rear carpeted seat area. The man I purchaed the car from provided these details but is no longer alive for more detail. I have chosen to never fix the damaged windows or replace the carpet as it is part of the cars past. Why or how this car survived after what happend to it is a mystery. The car itself runs great and smoothly although the Startix sometimes acts up. It does have a newer battery and I noticed in driving it that the brakes will need some attention (maybe just bled). I welcome any questions you may have about this great old car. I do reserve the right to end the auction early and please remember the car is sold as is where is. The President model was top of the line in 1935 and it has the longest wheel base offered by Studebaker. It is long and low and is really a handsome machine. You are absolutely welcome to come and view this car at any time prior to the auctions end. I do want this car to go to a good home and hopefully someone who will choose to leave it as is as I sense it is a part of history. Thanks. (530) 723-2145.
