Contact me at (515) 864-1275 or e-mail overton@aol.com Always garaged, never driven in rain or snow. It has all factory options that available, XM, built in music hard drive, Bose 800 watt sound system, backup camera, you name it. Refined Euphoria One look at the "G37" badge on the trunklid of Infiniti's new sport coupe, and it's evident there's something bigger and better at play here. As its name suggests, the G37 is motivated by a new 3.7-liter VQ-series V-6 that delivers 330 horses and 270 pound-feet of torque and features a 86.0mm stroke, a higher-compression ratio (11.0:1 versus 10.6:1). The "VHR" components denote Infiniti's innovative Variable Valve Event and Lift technology and the 3.7's "high-revolution" capability, i.e., a redline of 7500 rpm. According to Infiniti, VVEL, which continuously varies the timing and lift of the intake valves, provides more power and torque throughout the powerband as well as improved fuel economy and reduced emissions. Designers burned plenty of midnight oil to recharge the car's lines. Every body panel is new, and the G37 incorporates fresh design cues introduced on the sedan, including a wave hood, a double-arch grille, L-shaped headlamps, and an integrated rear spoiler. The overall look is more grown up, but it still conveys that sense of speed and power, certainly with the distinct character line that links the front and rear fenders. Dimensionally, the G37 hasn't strayed far from its precursor, growing 0.9 inch in length and 0.2 inch in width, while shrinking 0.1 inch in height. Wheelbase remains at 112.2 inches, while front and rear tracks widen by 0.5 and 0.9 inch, respectively. Inside, the G Coupe has experienced a metamorphosis, not at all resembling the old car's cabin. It does, fortunately, mimic the new sedan's, offering the same features and technology, along with a cockpit-oriented layout that envelops passengers. Finer fit and finish, modish design, and improved materials, including aluminum trim that resembles handmade Japanese Washi paper, collectively raise the bars of luxury and sport. Raising those bars even higher are the G37's chassis enhancements. As with the G35 sedan, the G37 coupe uses an FM platform that's 36 percent stiffer than its predecessor's and a revised front suspension with single-pivot lower control arms. The biggest differences now between the coupe and the sedan lie within trim equipment. The base G37 coupe uses the same suspension settings, 13.0-inch brakes, and 16.4:1 steering ratio as the G35S (sport) sedan, but wears 18-inch wheels wrapped in 225/50 Dunlops and will not offer a rear limited-slip differential. Further, the G37S offers the LSD and an available six-speed manual and four-wheel steering like its sedan counterpart, but takes it a notch higher by adding stiffer springs and dampers, larger anti-roll bars, a quicker 14.7:1 steering ratio, 19-inch wheels with 225/45 front and 245/40 rear Bridgestones, and an Akebono brake system that supersedes the previous Brembo unit. Infiniti touts the rotors-14.0 inches front and 13.8 inches rear-as the largest in the segment and doesn't shy away from bragging about the four-piston front and two-piston rear aluminum calipers, either. But brag they should, as not only are the brakes stellar-exhibiting excellent response and pedal feel and no fade-but so is the car as a whole. In tandem with the extra body rigidity, which is noticeably more robust from behind the wheel, the G37's reworked chassis delivers superior ride compliance, NVH isolation, and motion control compared with the G35 coupe's. Through all but the most aggressive curves, the car stays as flat as the Arizona desert. The added power from the 3.7 provides the Wow! factor when accelerating out of turns. Moreover, despite the increase in displacement, the 3.7 hasn't suffered a decrease in refinement-visiting the redline is a smooth and euphonic exercise. To sum up the G37 in a word: "superior" comes to mind. It outperforms and outshines its predecessor in every way. Flawless &. Loaded with luxury. There was no sheet metal damage but there was paint damage on the bumper and the car was repaired at a cost of $800. The owner has the paperwork on the damage and repair.
