Vehicle Detail
Please read entire description!!! 1967 Firebird 400 Convertible, the car is solid but needs to be restored. I was driving the car the way it is last year, I bought it as a drivable project but I don't have the time to do it right now. It runs, drives and stops, and was actually fun to drive the way it is. The car has never been restored before, all body panels are original to the car, it is an unhacked original car. Structurally the car is solid, the floors the rockers the frame rails, the trunk are all solid. The car needs a full restoration, there is rust in the quarter panels, but the inner wheels houses are solid. It needs both bumpers, it needs carpet, dash pad and a top. Like I said it needs a full restoration, or drive it the way it is, thats what I did. The motor runs fine and the car was ordered with a 3 speed manual transmission. I would suggest looking at the car in person, pictures never tell the full story, email with any questions. OK Here is an update on the car and some back history. I purchased the car from the original owners family, the car was purchased new by one brother and sometime in the 80's he passed away and the car went to the father, after the father passed away, the car went to the original owners brother, the brother passed away last year and I purchased it from his widow. Ive been asked alot of questions about the motor and if it is original to the car. After looking at the motor and trying to find an engine code, i've discovered that the motor is not stamped with an engine code. I also had a knowlegable pontiac enthusiast look at it and he confirmed that there is no code on the front of the block. So I spoke to the lady I purchased the car from and she confirmed that the car was an original 400 car that her brother in law purchased new, and that sometime in the first or second year of owning the car, the engine went bad and the Pontiac dealer replaced the engine. So why the block is not stamped with an engine code I don't know. So the car is an original 400 Convertible but the engine was replaced back when the car was a year or two old.
