Vehicle Detail

Numbers-matching, fully-documented, newly-restored 1978 Trans Am Special Edition 4-speed with W72 option. One of 489. Original 400 (6.6L) Pontiac "Z" code W72 engine rebuilt 100 miles ago. Original four-speed manual transmission rebuilt and new clutch. Car restored to factory appearance. New BFG Radial T/A's, and new dual exhaust system. Original equipment besides the W72 Special Performance option: working C60 air conditioning (now R134), Y90 velour seat covers, UM2 Delco AM/FM 8-Track Radio, A31 power windows, C95 map/dome light, Black Y82 Special Edition package with Hurst Hatch T-Tops, gold stripe decals. Interior restored to stock: new seat covers, door panels, cut-pile carpet, recovered dash, gold instrument bezel, new headliner, package tray, seat belts, new windshield and weatherstrip. Correct spare tire and jacking equipment. Everything works, even the clock. Suspension bushings and mounts replaced. Rebuilt master cylinder and booster, new front calipers, rotors, and rear brakes. GM paint code 19 Black, single stage urethane to simulate the original lacquer paint, color sanded and buffed. New decals. Car was brought to New Mexico in the 1980's by the second owner, I bought it from him. It's lived in the desert southwest for most of its life. This is not a clone, it is the real deal. Only 489 Special Edition 4-speeds with the W72 Performance Package in 1978 out of 93,341 Trans Am's built that year. This is one of them, fully restored to factory and numbers-matching drive train. It was a rare then (1 out of 200), even rarer now. Feel free to call me: 505-414-5221, questions or more pix. This is a car to own as an investment and to show off with. They didn't make a lot of them. Thanks for looking.
