Vehicle Detail
So, as you can see, this is a 1969 R50/2 with Earles fork and is sidecar ready. I am the third owner. The second owner only put about a 1,000 miles on it. He says, and these are his words, "the original owner was a little old lady who only drove it...." to some event every year and not just on Sundays. But as you can see it's in fantastic shape with only 14166 miles. I have tried to photograph all the blemishes on the bike, which are considerably few given it's age of 45 years. This is an original, unrestored start right up and ride off with no worries kind of bike. Original paint, hand painted tank and fenders pin-stripping, tire pump on the frame, tools in the glove box piece of awesome. Seriously though, it starts on the first kick if you prime the carbs right and know what you're doing. If you don't know what you're doing it takes a five minute demonstration and you're golden. The guy I bought from showed me as I was used to a '74 Bmer with an electric starter. Since then I have had no problem starting it up. All electric, turn signals and horn work as they should. The only thing I've seen that out of the ordinary is that the brake light only works with the foot/rear brake but not the hand brake. Is that normal? Not sure. But so far that's the only thing I've found wrong with it. So why are you selling an awesome bike you may ask. Pregnant wife. So I told her I would "try my hardest" to sell it on ebay. But honestly, I'm not that motivated so with the "best offer" option it's a win/win. I get to only let go of this beauty at a reasonable offer to someone who will really appreciate it as I do. If it doesn't sell I get to keep riding my envious ride with my buddies who all want a piece of it! I am not a BMW expert so I won't be able to answer a lot of technical questions but feel free to ask. Know that the sale is final on vintage bike that is sold as is. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Good luck!
