I have had this 1989 TC since 2005. It is 1 of 5 that I have owned since 1992. Obviously, I enjoy them very much but it's time for me to move on. In the early years I used them as daily drivers, the last 10 years more for summer sun and fun. The 1989 models are now considered to be antiques. NOTE: The rest of this description is written for people who know TCs, those that don't can research them on line for the facts and lies published since circa 1984. This car had the engine and turbo charger rebuilt in 2005 and still runs strong. It was complete repainted in 2006 and (see photos) still has a great shine to it. I has some minor imperfections that come with age and use. There are very few of these cars in the North East, so it always turns heads whenever I take it out for a ride and at local cruise nights. The good: It still has all the original Maserati logo glass. All power windows and power seats (and switches) work. All headlights and taillights are in good shape. The top pulldown works as designed. ABS system works. The black convertible soft top is in good shape (was replaced once) and has the original Maserati logo glass. The interior leather is in above average condition and has been treated every year. Tires, brakes (rotors, pads), shocks, front axles, rear springs and master cylinder have all been replaced. Exhaust has been replaced. Rack & pinion steering assembly was replaced while engine was out of car. Fuel tank and all fuel lines were replaced as was the transmission cooler. The car just passed RI State Inspection, so lights, front end, emissions, etc., are all OK. I have receipts for all of the above work and other maintenance performed over the years. You can check out their website for more details. The bad (I call them pending/unfinished projects): It is not only an Antique; it is 25 + years old and has its share of things needing attention. The radio works fine, but some of the speakers don't ( I do have some spares that could be swapped). The power antenna works, but doesn't go all the way up or down without a little help (I have a spare of these also available) The speedometer/odometer also work intermittently (common problem for TCs) even though I had both the speedometer head and the speed/distance sensor replaced. As a result, true mileage is unknown. I have never used the A/C, so I can’t speak to the condition, but it is all standard Chrysler and aprts are available OTC or online. A few of the rubber items will need replacing, only 1, the driver’s door rubber and window seal should be done soon, the others may be fine for years. I have replacements for all of them. The (under)hood pad was removed and I was never able to find an original replacement. I do have a universal one will be part of the sale. The BEST: Comes with a Maserati umbrella in the original leather case and miscellaneous extra parts.Note: I may have fixed/replaced some of the above issues before car is delivered.Please feel free to ask me any questions.
