Vehicle Detail
It's time to downsize some of my toys. I rarely ride this bike so it makes the most sense. I've seen some nice RC51's around, but this one is hard pressed to find one that compares. For sale is my 2002 SP2 RC51. It currently has 10,200 ish miles and may go up by a 100 miles or so by the time the auction ends. I thought I would bring it out this summer and ride some of the canyons around here, but I find that I am just traveling way too much. In anticipation for a summer full of riding I did a lot of maintenance to the bike, who knows what it would have all costed at the dealer.. I rebuilt the front forks and replaced the bushings, seals and fluid. I checked the valve clearances and all were dead on factory spec. (this check is usually done at 16k miles, but I was already that far down into the bike.) I cleaned and rebuilt the fuel injectors, the proper way not just with additive in the tank. I replaced the spark plugs. I replaced the air filters. I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter. I have never had a single problem with the bike. All of this was done just as preventative maintenance since the bike is a 2002. I replaced both tires with new Michelin pilot power Z's. All of this was done with around 9,750 miles on the bike so about 500 miles ago. Now for the goodies the bike has........ Gold 520 o-ring chain conversion with RK quick acceleration sprockets. The bike has a FULL moriwaki zero titanium exhaust. This is an extremely hard to find exhaust and it just sounds amazing powered by the vtwin engine. The bike also has a full carbon fiber rear tire hugger. Moriwaki carbon fiber radiator inserts. Carbon fiber triple tree cover. Tinted v2 windscreen. Carbon fiber tank protector/wrap. Bike also has a Scott's steering stabilizer.(gold and it matches the rims) I replaced the clunky factory turn signals with low profile led blinkers all around. I also hardwired a resistor into the circuit to get rid of the annoying fast flashing associated with led turn signals. (didn't harm the factory harnesses) It is also hand signed by none other then Colin Edwards, the Texas tornado, 2 time world superbike champion. It is lacquered over to prevent accidental wash off. Last but not least. This bike has 3200$ single piece forged marchesini magnesium rims. That last sentence should speak for itself.....yes, I'm sure you could find these rims for 2700 used or so, but I've been on ebay like a hawk trying to find some just for pricing purposes. With all of the above stated, I think you see why you would be extremely hard pressed to find another RC51 of this caliber, with the pictures and paperwork to prove. The bike is adult owned and you can tell by the mileage it wasn't abused in any way. If you are close I urge you to come look at it in person to really appreciate it. I am willing to help the buyer with delivery, say up to 300-400 miles for a small fee. Otherwise it is up to you to arrange shipping. I can be flexible on pickup times.
