1964 Mercedes 230SL This classic, 1964 Mercedes 230SL garaged Pagoda roadster, all original, was recently unveiled after 22 years of being in storage.To make drivable again, the vehicle requires, at a minimum, to perform a complete Cooling System Overhaul: New Fuel Pump, Inspection and Sealing of Fuel Tank; Filters; Hoses and Belts; Braking System Overhaul; New Tires; inspect and fix any Hydraulic Component Failures; perform manifold inspection adjustments and Head Gasket replacement. The overall condition of the vehicle is sound with minimal rust in the wheel wells. The chrome is straight and ready for refinishing or, if preferred, left original. Interior leather is cracking and upholstery needs replacing. Hardtop is in good shape. The soft-top is retracted and in place, but needs overhauling with new fabric. Compression in cylinders has been checked and readings are in spec. The only known missing details include Right Front Headlight Glass and Mercedes Emblem in ill-fitting Pagoda Chrome Front End Surround. In its day this vehicle was a pleasure to drive. This car has had the same owner since 1979. The current owner discovered this car in Belgium in 1979, exported it to the U.S. and drove her regularly from 1984 until 1992, at which time she went into storage.She would make a great addition to any family auto collection, and is certainly worthy of the expense of completing restoration to bring this BAVARIAN BEAUTY back to her prime!
