Vehicle Detail
I'm offering this Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with no reserve. If you like driving in the left lane and having everyone move out of your way, then this is the car for you! I've owned it over a year and a half and have driven it daily, including two cross country trips. The car was originally owned by The Putnamville Correctional Institute and I have ALL the maintenance records. It has an engine that purrs and the intake manifold was replaced just 5,000 miles before I bought it. If you're familiar with the 4.6 you know the intake is the weak link on this engine. It will fail. The replacement is of a new design which utilizes aluminum where the original was plastic. This CVPI is equipped with cruise control which is rare to see in a cop car. Holds steady at whichever speed you set it. You may think the car has high miles, but I've been in a dozen cabs that had 300,000+ miles, all with the original engine! I get 20 MPG cruising at 80MPH. The A/C is currently not working because of a leak in the line. All other A/C components are present and operational. There is a little rust around the drivers fender and a minor amount at the bottom of the back door. The paint was peeling on the hood so I just gave it a coat of gloss gray paint. I just replaced all 4 tires from WalMart and also purchased lifetime balance and road hazard protection. The car starts every time and has NEVER failed me. All I've done is change the oil (Mobil 1) and replaced the belt, not because it broke, but just for insurance. The car pulls SLIGHTLY to the right, but it has never bothered me. I just want to mention all I know. I now have 800 feedback, all positive, and have been on ebay 11 years. I would not sell a car that I wouldn't personally drive cross country. And I just did! Sunday I was in Houston and as I type this, I'm in my hotel room in Elizabethtown Kentucky. I'm stopping later in Wheeling West Virginia and will be in Pittsburgh Wednesday. The car will be in the Sewickley part of town if you want to come look at it. The only reason I'm selling it is because I already have my Buick in PA and my garage only holds one car. :) I'll post more detailed photos on Thursday after I wash it. This would make someone a safe first car or if you need transportation for 5 people. I know I will miss it, but I just have one car too many. Email or call with questions. 817-368-9477 Thanks for looking and good luck! On Jun-12-14 at 13:52:06 PDT, seller added the following information: I also want to add the car has a good spare tire and includes the police trunk organizer with Kevlar panel. The intake manifold and spark plugs were replaced at 196K miles. On Jun-12-14 at 13:58:40 PDT, seller added the following information: I'm also throwing in a good, used alternator and an aftermarket plastic center console. Not the greatest, but functional. On Jun-12-14 at 14:49:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I also want to mention one of the chrome beauty rings on the wheels is missing. They originally did not come on this car. They were from my Suburban. On Jun-12-14 at 17:28:19 PDT, seller added the following information: Okay, I just used some Blue Magic stain lifter on the seats and it worked WONDERS! I'll take pics tomorrow when the Sun's out. I also want to mention the left rear tail light lens has a hole in it (smaller than a dime) that I covered with self sticking prismatic lens repair. It passes Texas safety inspection. The first piece lasted over a year, even through automatic, high pressure car washes. I'm including an 8"X8" sheet of it. Enough to repair it 20 times! But it sticks so well, you'll never use it all. I'll include a pic of that as well tomorrow. On Jun-14-14 at 17:52:03 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! The ABS light is on. I picked up a $179 OBDII/EOBD+ABS code reader to see what's up. It shows code1175, Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Input Circuit Failure. I've been told it may be as little as a loose connection, but being the weekend, I could have it investigated no further. If you have placed a bid and would like me to cancel it for you, please email or call. To make up for this, I will include this code reader with the car if you're the winning bidder. If I get no takers, I will have this remedied and relist the auction with a starting bid reflecting any repair cost. Sorry for any inconvenience, GJ. On Jun-14-14 at 18:03:08 PDT, seller added the following information: The braking is in no way affected by the ABS code. The brakes function just fine.
