Vehicle Detail
The company Monet et Goyon was formed in 1917 by Joseph Monet and Adrien Goyon. It began manufacturing invalid carriages for disabled WW1 veterans. In 1920 they became agents for the British Autocycle company and then in 1922 produced their first motorcycle. During the 1920's they built an excellent reputation for sporty flat tank bikes such as the Z147 and 175. The company had considerable racing success including winning the Bol Dor six times between 1927 and 1948. The company continued to build bikes until its closure in 1959. The factory was in Macon, one hour north of Lyon, France. Today it is very hard to source motorcycles of this make and era that are not restored, where for sure this machine (has been stored for Many decades) is not in working condition.Personally I but don’t regard this as something really disturbing, as to my idea this machine shouldn’t be restored and would do great on display as is (for instance standing in an old-fashioned workshop, hanging against the wall or on events etc.), but then of course there’s also the choice of giving this machine a second life by restoring it. The engine is turning smoothly and has good compression, the gearbox shifts fine, the spokes of both he front and rear-wheel have been replaced a couple of years ago and there’s a new chain with the bike (not fitted yet, see picture). Also please note the very special ‟Deluxe” oval shaped headlamp and all the other nice details. The machine has never been road-registered, but I will provide the buyer an official bill of sale from my company here in Belgium, an official European Certificate of Origin which states the make, displacement, VIN & all other relevant specifications, plus I’ll make sure that all the correct export-paperwork will be in place before the bike leaves from here, which documents will make the process of importing it into the US an easy ride. -On this listing I’m offering a special (fully sealed) m’cycle crate, careful packing and physical shipping from here in Belgium to a US container freight station as close as possible to you at my expense. Please note; In case the bike needs to be shipped to another destination than the US, please ask whether I can offer you such a deal as well before placing a bid (mostly this is not a problem but better make sure). Furthermore, when you want to receive some better photo's of the bike/shipping, or want to recieve more information about this item, just let me know. -Additional information to this listing; Like can be seen, the bike has after 75 years many traces of use and age (patina). I only offer shipping by sea, where of course we can advise you on forehand about the process of importing the machine into your country. Like can be read in the link, this antique bike is because of its age and displacement exempt from US import-duty and EPA regulations; https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/278/~/importing-classic-or-antique-vehicles-%2F-cars-for-personal-use The crate will safely sail in a sealed container and the shipment is fully insured for eventual damage/loss. I accept payments through PayPal. The free shipping offer is only for US (North America) mainland destinations, but most probably something can be worked out in this regard when you live somewhere else. When you live in another country and want to find out whether this offer would also be possible for you, please ask before bidding.
