Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1976 Suzuki GT550 Indy Two Stroke Triple. Bike runs and rides great, transmission shifts and clutch works as they should, brakes work as good as they did in 1976(not very good on these bikes) I bought this bike with the intentions on restoring it,(they guy I bought it off of gave me all kinds of parts, I could sell those by themselves and make $600-800 but I will give them to the buyer because they will be needed to restore bike and may be hard to get) I am selling it now because I really want to make a cafe bike and this one is just in too good a condition to tear apart. I have done very little since I got bike I changed out the two inner mufflers with ones I was given and bought a baffle off here(only one i have seen in a while) and done a little cleaning on it, It could use more cleaning and polishing. Bike had a sissy bar rack on it I took it off but I did take pictures of it on it too. The former owner redid the gauge cluster with new glass gauge lenses, of the 550's I have seen on here it is prolly the nicest set of gauges I have seen. I have taken pictures of everything I could think of including all the parts. Parts list:Carb rebuild kitspetcock rebuild kitSparkplug boot kitsGas tank lid o-ringNew Rear ShocksMufflers(two best inners installed by me)3 inners but one is for a gt380Carb boots uppers and lowers(these alone are about $120)Taillight chrome coverChain guard(not new but rechromeable) Forks( the ones on it are fine)Grab bar for sideThe original tool kit(pouch is kinda rough) with suzuki S's on them Two books Clymer manual and a parts book with all the nos part numbers in itplus a box of misc. screws bolts and nuts and other nos partsNOS strainer screens for the petcock 5-gallons of rust remover to clean gas tank(If you want it is not very rusty but if you were gonna rebuild carbs and petcock and such it will be included if you decided to clean tank also) Bike Rides great very smooth I have ridden a 1974 Kawasaki H1 500 and this bike is way smoother and a much nicer ride.Any Questions or if you want any pictures of anything on the bike, feel free to contact me and I will get them asap. The question was ask about frame and engine vin numbers. The frame number is 64716 the engine number is 67816Hope this helps answer any questions about that. After doing some digging on the serial numbers from Suzuki I found that the engine and frame numbers are not going to be the sameFor 1976 the first frame number was 61315 and the first engine number was 64464For 1977 the first frame number was 70364 and the first engine number was 73451So from this you can see that the frame and engine numbers definitely fall in the 1976 range and are more than likely the correct original engine for this frame number, since the first bikes numbers are 3149 numbers apart and this bikes numbers are 3100 apart.
