Vehicle Detail

1969 Chevelle 13637 code 2 door hardtop. original Air Conditioning equipped car Here is a video I just posted of it on u tube, http://youtu.be/rVzFrP3DYLo Laser straight body work, black cherry metallic paint in exceptional condition. 1970 code 350, 30 over with edelbrock manifold & 600 CFM carb. MSD probillet HEI electronic distributer. Turbo 350 with factory floor shift. 12 bolt rear end. Power front disc brakes, power steering. Exceptional interior with bucket seats. equipped with Vintage Air conditioning that works fantastic. Was a bare metal respray and it shows. Cragar SS with BFG T/A radials. This car is a head turner that can be driven every day. This is an outstanding car that you can drive in bumper to bumper traffic with the a/c on and never overheat. Highway gears so easy cruising and plenty of go when you want it. The pictures speak for themselves. Drive as is or drop in a big block and mount the emblems and you have a 45k ride. This car is that nice For those who do not live in the Atlanta area, it has some of the worst traffic in the country. For example, my office is 11 miles from home, yet on a great day it takes 45 minutes, on a bad night it takes 2 hours. God forbid there is an accident, you can double that. So any car I own, has to be able to handle the traffic and the months of 90 degree summers. Its no fun watching the temp gauge every minute of your drive. I drive all my classics and they have to be able to handle the commute. The prior owners vision was a car his son could take to school everyday, unfortunately he would rather take the family Land Rover. I continued to develop that original idea and ad my “second day” period correct look. Back in my day, the first thing the lucky person who brought these home from the showroom was to swap wheels, ad a tach, and change the exhaust. That was my visual goal and I think it came out well. Recently I redid the exhaust and added the correct stainless steel SS396 style exhaust tips and went from 2 to 2.5 inch from the headers back. Some of the photos on this listing show the old pipes sticking straight out the back 1969 was the first year that the SS became an option. The VIN and Trim panel no longer confirm the SS option , lending these years to be easily cloned. Other than the build sheet, which is long gone, there is really only one way to confirm that it was a 396 car, and I won’t post that on a forum, but even that small detail is easily changed. The trim tag on this car decodes as a top of the line V8 Malibu Sport Coupe with A/C & V8 Automatic. The original color was Cortez Silver with black interior. I resisted the temptation to add the SS emblems or even the Chevelle and Malibu ones, other than the one on the front header panel. Just couldn’t bring myself to drill the holes in that body and paint. It looks even better in person. Detailed Write up below: This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle (chassis 136379B335256) has been massaged into a strong running, good looking car designed to handle street cruising with or daily driving with ease thanks to A/C, Power steering Power Disc Brakes with an automatic transmission . Started as a father/son build sometime in the early 2000s, it was finished to a good standard but sat neglected for years. This rescued stalled project and has been brought up to an impressive standard. Body work and paint dates from 2003/04, and receipts detail over 94 hours of labor to the tune of nearly $12k. It is laser straight, and the black with cherry metallic is a great color for the muscly, sinister looking coupe. Bumpers and trim were all replaced with Goodmark parts at the time of work, which consisted of a bare metal respray over a solid, southern car. Quarter panels, floor pans, and trunk are all thought to be original, with the only noticeable patching on the transmission tunnel where it appears to have been put in place to cover a manual shift from some time in its past. The steel double hump hood and grille are SS items, rubber is soft and in excellent condition, and factory tinted glass is also described as very nice. Inside things are clean and sorted with fresh upholstery, door panels and headliner. A factory A/C equipped car, it’s since been fitted with upgraded Vintage Air components and a heat/defrost system that work very well. All stock apart from an a center console mounted tach and auxiliary three gauge panel, the seats and panels both appear to have been done well with OEM correct materials and patterns. A V8 car from the factory, it now runs a 1970 code four bolt main 350 bored .030 over and fitted with an Edelbrock intake, 600 CFM carb, mild cam, MSD electronic distributor, Moroso deep sump oil pan and pump, long tube headers, and 2.5 inch, chambered exhaust into factory style tips. Nasty sound without being overbearing inside the car. Finned aluminum rocker covers and an SS style air cleaner look good, and power is put down through a Turbo 350 with factory floor shift console and 12 bolt rear end with an aluminum cover. The staggered look comes from lowering springs in front, while sway bars are found at both ends. Brakes are boosted with discs in front, and the front end has been rebuilt and runs power steering. Wheels are Cragar SS items wrapped in BFG T/A radials, and help give a classic street bruiser stance. Please do not hesitate to message for any questions or concerns.
