For sale is my 1982 300 Turbo Diesel Coupe If you are looking at this car, then you are likely familiar with longevity of these models. This is the w123 chassis that Mercedes introduced in 1976. They are strong, and tend to run for years – it is not unusual for these cars to go for 500,000+ miles. This coupe has been my daily drive for the past six years. That said, I work from home, so I don’t drive a lot. So yes, I am the little (not so) old lady from Pasadena. However, there have been fun trips to Palm Springs, and up the coast to San Francisco. It is a California car, with no signs of rust. It also has the original blue and yellow CA license plate. If you are a CA resident, the registration is good until November 2014. The finish is black and shiny, with only minor little scratches from a car that is 32 years old. The interior is also black in the MB Tex Vinyl. I added a window tint all around to cut out the UV rays, and it adds to its appearance. I call it my “spy car”. Even at over 30 years old, it always get compliments and looks wherever I go. (the car, not me :) ) The car has the original radio with tape deck, and a working electric sunroof. The odometer shows 99,905, but it stuck on that number a little while ago, so I estimate the actual mileage to be around 120,000. The car is always garaged, and is regularly serviced with a mechanic that only works on MBZ and specializes in the older models. Some of the things I have attended to are: New motor mounts New filters and fluids (regularly) New hood insulation New brake calipers and discs New vacuum elements where needed New blower motor Most recently, I have done the following: January 2014: 4 new tires – with life expectancy of 50K miles April 2014: A/C Recharge (R134A) – A/C blows cold and strong All that said, this car isn’t perfect, and does have some character flaws. Following are issues that I want to be honest about: All power windows work except the drivers side rear window. The dash has cracks. The wood looks good, but it is not perfect. There are some chips and signs of aging. The passenger front seat stitching is coming apart at the side seam. The back seat is missing the ashtray. The headliner at the back is sagging. The seal around the windows and windshield has cracks. The chrome doesn’t shine as it once did - could probably be re-plated if that is important to you. Please perform your due diligence, and have your funds in place before you bid. The vehicle is being sold “as is” with no warranty, expressed or implied. I have done my very best to describe and photograph the car, and welcome any questions. I will strive to answer within 24 hours or less. For those out of the area, I will be willing to assist with shipping arrangements, however, all shipping costs will be the responsibility of the winning bidder, including cost of driving to a port. However, due to personal circumstances, I will need the vehicle picked up by May 27th, so please keep this in mind.
