Vehicle Detail

For auction is a well maintained 2000 Mazda Miata that is setup to run light track or autocross duty. I do drive it occasionally on public streets with the shocks set all the way "soft" and it is streetable, even with the stiff aftermarket springs. This car will never win a beauty contest, but it does perform very well at the track. I have taken it to 3 separate, non-competitive track events where it was complimented as a tight, well-sorted car by a driving instructor. It was originally a Florida car, and has always been garaged since I purchased it in late 2004 with 72,000 miles. It was never driven in the winter, and there is no rust. All maintenance has been performed including timing belt, plugs, wires, coil pack, O2 sensors, new clutch and associated bearings, new synthetic fluids each spring, etc. Here are the items which make it less-than-perfect: The convertible top has a cut which has been patched and is sun-faded from being down. Otherwise, it's a functional top that doesn't leak. The battery hold down bracket welded nut has spun and cannot be tightened fully. The trunk torsion bar broke off and the trunk lid will no longer stay up on its own. I suspect that this is an easy thing to get repaired with a welder. There are numerous little scratches, dents, and faded paint throughout. It looks good from 10 feet away, but the blemishes are there. There is light receiver hitch damage on both bumpers from irresponsible drivers. I've tried to take pictures of the worst of these. Modified for light track duty with modifications including:Sparco Sprint racing seats and Deist 6-point harnesses (there are no stock seat-belts). I am 6' tall (all torso, short legs) can can clear the roll bar with a helmeted head by 2". The seats are installed into the car with custom, non-adjustable brackets, which basically set the seats right on the floorboards. Hard Dog roll bar with harness barFlyin Miata springs with KYB 4-way adjustable shocksMazda OEM limited slip differentialFlyin Miata front and rear anti-sway barsFlyin Miata front shock tower brace SSR Comp lightweight 15" wheels with Falken Azenis tires (>50% life left). This is a very light combo. Porterfield R-4 brake pads. I have the stock brake pads as well. New interior carpet with sound deadening removed and replaced with heat insulating lining. Makes a HUGE difference on hot / track days! Exhaust header from 2001-2005 cars (welded tubes instead of cast). 15 lbs weight savings, and makes the engine breath noticeably easier. Flyin Miata midpipe and muffler.Momo Race steering wheel (small 320 mm diameter). I have the stock steering wheel (with airbag) as well. Aftermarket Kenwood stereo with speakers, including remote satellite tweeters. VDO oil pressure, oil temperature, and voltmeter gauges.Modified engine coolant temperature gauge which provides actual feedback of temperature. No longer a glorified "idiot light."Instrument panel lighting as been modified to blue with red needles (matches stereo and gauges).Center console from 2001-2005 cars (better storage and usable space).Fixed radio antennae (lighter than power antennae). Finally, I reserve the right to cancel the auction early per eBay guidelines.
