Vehicle Detail
1985 300D DIESEL : This car's VIN listed is correct - do a google search on VIN check and it comes up - Im not sure why ebay can't find it. It has a clear title of which I have ready to transfer to new owner and 2 keys for the vehicle. We've had the car since 2011 The Good:1. Starts up every time and nice clean body2. Electrical components are working: sunroof, vacuum lock system recently adjusted at mechanic shop, power windows, wtc.3. Working Air Conditioning (we had it professionally replaced in summer 2012 with new a/c unit AND replaced climate control unit in car - so both functioning to provide A/C and heating)4. Upgraded stereo speakers, ipod adapter (just plug it in and ur grooving!) AND removeable stereo interface for security.5. Tires: Lots of tread on tires (all replaced in Dec of 2012) They are Spen Touring 60,000 miles tires that also have hazard protection for 3 years (so until Dec 2015) on them from BIG O' Tires (for nails n things) plus free tire rotation with life of tires6. Lots of work put into the car including new control arms, tie rods, new battery (Feb. 2012), replaced diesel transfer hoses (summer 2013) fixing leaks, glow plugs, hoses, new bosch alternator (Feb. 2012), New Drive Belts (Feb. 2012) New rear brake pads & rotors (Nov. 2011), New front brake pads & rotors (May 2010) replaced strut rod bushings (2012) Not So Good:1. Has a new leak (these cars seem to always leak)2. The transmission appears to run "sluggish". We had our mechanic drive it around and he said "It's going to need a transmission tune-up". You're more than welcome to call the mechanic and ask if he has any other comments about it or cost. Its a professional mechanic shop in S.F Ca. (email for details)3. The radiator was professionally replaced by the previous owner but our new mechanic said it appears to be a lot older than the install date. I called the mechanic about it and he was not helpful so the radiator may need some work down the line OR could get replaced by this mechanic if pushed.4. The Glove Compartment (which was fixed once) doesnt stay closed - easy fix. 5. The passenger side mirror is missing (not the expensive part just the cheap insert of the actual mirror that is glued in) Value: This car has a lot of value in it; over $15,000 worth of parts & labor combined in past 5 years by us and previous owner. The a/c unit alone costs over $1,000 for parts, professional installation and warraty, new climate control unit over $200, the battery cost over $100, the new bosch alternator $220+, new tires $400+, the sound system (new speakers with ipod hook-up and removeable stereo face) countless other small parts like glow plugs, tie rods etc. In the event the new owner ever decides to stop driving it - this car qualifies for $1,000 in CA. for having it taken off the road. Per That's about it - it is a California car so rust is minimal if any (a tiny rust spot on hood of car from leaving the key on it for a week in the rain - so minor). It also comes with an extra passenger rear door that previous owner bought just because of a dent in the one currently on the vehicle. The interior is in pretty good shape too for its age.
