Vehicle Detail

In 1929 Dr. Wright of Lexington, Tenn. purchased this Veh. from Odle Chevrolet in Lexington , Tenn. I was told this was the first car sold by Odle Chevrolet. Dr. Wright used this car for his patient visits until he died in 1939. His family placed the car in storage, where it remained until 1951. People in Lexington, Tenn. that remembered Dr. Wright also remember his 1929 Chevy and how well maintained he always kept it. In 1951, the second owner Mr. James R. Keeton, purchased the car from the Wright family and drove it in Parades and other events. He purchased a Corvette rear suspension and rear axle and intended to convert the car to a street rod. Fortunately, he never followed through with this. The car was again placed in storage in a Barn in Perryville, Tenn. from 1957 until 1989. Mr. Keeton was living in Perryville, Tenn. at the time., but now resides in Savannah, Tenn. Mr. Henry Bowman purchased the car from the second owner in 1989. It still had the 1957 license tags that James R. Keeton used (don't have) on car. Henry Bowman did some restoration work on the car from 1989 to 1991. He installed a Hampton Coach interior, new vinyl top, new 16ga. galvanized gas tank ( which I replaced with an original one which was professionally cleaned boiled and sealed), new Coker tires/tubes, new running board mats, and new paint ( which because of the orange peel I had it re sanded and repainted professionally). He drove it on the highway one time and it was stored in his Auto Body shop building until I purchased it about 2 years ago. It was in storage for 67 years of its 85 year life. This is an all original 1929 Chevy Coach, 2 door, with the first year of the 6cyl., one year before Ford came out with his first 6cyl. in 1930. It also has a newly rebuild original carburetor and all gas lines and tank freshly cleaned. I had the front windshield rubber seals restored as to open the way it should with a restored original windshield wiper motor ( just needs vacuum hose connected to work). This car runs and is ready to take to your local car show or parades. See all the attention you get!!! especially with the plastic Tommy gun in the back seat. GET READY FOR THE SUMMER!!!!! This car is a 85 year old car and is being sold in as is condition. No warranty. Please look at pictures and fell free to inspect the car with reservation.
