Vehicle Detail
--1990 Ford F150 4x4. Engine--big 6-cylinder (300ci Straight-6) runs STRONG, no major problems. Transmission is a C6 Automatic 3-speed...this was a recent conversion--original transmission was a 5-speed manual. Less than 3000 miles on new transmission. The shift selector is a bit "glitchy" (See below for details) Dual fuel tanks. The body is relatively sound, a couple of rust spots, but no surprise on a 24 year old truck. I've kept it the past couple of years just to play in the hills--no significant on-road use other than getting to the mountains. The 4x4 transfer case is a bit noisy but has worked just fine for me. I'm moving out of state next week and won't have need of it anymore! A great fixer-upper, or part it out...your choice.-----------------------------Seller will NOT arrange or pay for delivery/transport BUYER MUST PICK UP VEHICLE in Rifle CO or arrange for transport to pick it up from my location.------------------------------ Recent fixes/upgrades: New Water Pump (less than 300 miles), upper/lower radiator hoses and heater hoses replaced at same time. C6 tranny conversion--2 years ago/less than 3000 miles. Needs: Brakes Front Wheel Bearing (repack or replace??) Tires are wearing pretty thin...they're also VERY noisy on pavement...maybe something a little less 'knobby' if you plan on a lot of road use To truly make it safe as a daily driver, you'll want: New Windshield Driver's door hard to close--new striker and inside door pull would be nice One last comment on the Transmission conversion: I was on a pretty much non-existent budget when the tranny went out. The gearbox itself was a professional rebuild, but I had a friend (a young kid in trade school learning to be a mechanic) who did the installation. He talked me into using a Hurst Pro-Shift II shifter...a bad choice. It goes into park, but does not stay (park it in neutral/apply parking brake and block the wheel has been my solution). Also the "speed shift" feature (pull the shifter down to downshift/push up to upshift) sometime comes loose, leaving you temporarily stuck in 1st or 2nd gear. If I was going to keep it too much longer, I'd have somebody change it over to a standard column shift. :)
