Vehicle Detail

If you have been looking for a nice low mileage oilhead GS, you know they are becoming hard to come by. You are looking at a used 1995 BMW R1100GS with extremely low miles....4,195 actual miles! The GS has ABS brakes, heated grips, factory accessory plug, full tool kit, owners manual, extra keys, factory saddle bags (scuffed) and BMW accessory tank bag with rain cover. I also just installed new OEM BMW handguards and SW Mototech engine guards (the bike did not have either on it when I bought it). I purchased the GS from the original owner through BMW M/C of Grand Rapids, MI last fall. I have decided to go back to a smaller dual sport bike (like a KLR650 or DR650). Here are some additional details: Fully serviced by BMW M/C of Grand Rapids last fall, including a new Wesco battery. The GS has the original factory plastic fuel tank. Some of these bikes had the tanks replaced with metal tanks but, not this one. Some owners reported problem of paint bubbling on the plastic tank. At the fuel neck on this bike, there are two 1" long x 1/4" wide bubbles but cannot be seen when the tank bag is installed and does not negatively effect the bike in any way. The "R1100GS" emblems were removed from the fuel tank. The OEM saddle bags have boot scuffs on them from getting on / off the bike. They could easily be repainted a matte black (which, IMHO, would look better than the shiney black). Both rider and pillion seat are in good conditon with no cracks, tears, etc. The bike also has the black plastic engine guards and they are scuff free as the bike has not been down on either side. The OEM accessory tank bag is in very good condition and includes the yellow rain cover. The rear velcro mounting point will need a piece of double face tape to secure it to the base of the fuel tank (under the seat) as the OEM tape was removed when a different tank bag was installed. The bike comes with the two rubber topped metal keys and two of the small accessory keys (just like when the bike was new). Owner's manual is in good shape and not waterstained, torn, missing pages, etc. Full factory tool kit is in place under the tool lid under the pillion seat. The bike is in nice condition for a 1995 model (19 years old) and has a few scuffs here and there but, nothing major. The bike rides straight and true, has never been wrecked and the black paint looks excellent. I put a new BMW Roundel emblem on the right side of the fuel tank as the prior one had yellowed somewhat. Two negatives....1) The stock windshield has some hair line cracks around the mounting holes and has somewhat yellowed also due to age. GIVI and Ztechnik make nice replacement windshields still. 2) The headlight lense has a ding in it but, the head light functions just as it should with both high and low beams working fine. Both of these items can be seen in the attached pictures. The tires are good but, if I was to take a long trip on this bike, I would replace them. They are not the original tires. The Giant Loop tank bag and Fastway footpegs DO NOT go with the bike as the OEM BMW tank bag and OEM footpegs are what go with the GS. Starting the auction @ $4,895.00 with NO RESERVE! I am sure I may have missed something but, not on purpose or to intentionally hide something from the buyer. For what it's worth, I have been a BMWMOA member for over 20 years - MOA #31786. RE SHIPPING: I will help out in any way that I can with shipping the bike BUT, I will NOT ship nor crate the bike nor pay for any shipping costs. I will meet your shipper at a local truck stop (Gallahan Truck Stop on US 31 North; Peru, IN) to save you a few bucks on a commercial location pick up. RE PAYMENT: A $200.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction via PayPal. The remaining funds are due in either cash or a bank cashier check within 7 days of the end of the auction. All funds must clear my bank prior to releasing either the bike or the title. Please check out my 100% eBay feedback and bid with confidence. NOTE: I am on eBay from 8am - 4pm Monday - Friday only. If you would like to call me, please feel free to do so @ 765-469-1730. Thanks for looking and good luck! There are no open recalls on this bike and the only recall ever completed on the bike was a universal joint housing cover leaking. The only thing I can figure is any main seal recall must have been for other VIN bikes. I would "assume" a leaking mail seal would cause a clutch to slip and / or visible leaking oil, which the bike has neither. Please contact your local BMW dealer, run the VIN by them (I added it to the eBay ad this morning) and verify the service history. Thank you again for your interest!
