Vehicle Detail

SEE BELOW DESCRIPTION FOR HI-RES PICTURES14500 or best offer. Located in Great Falls Virginia, Outside of Washington DC. Helping to sell my Uncle’s 1973 AMC Javelin AMX. It has been in the family since the 1980’s and was restored about 15 years ago. Solid older restoration as the car has been garaged. REAL AMX as evidenced by the provided VIN number. An 8 in the number “6” VIN slot indicates this is indeed a real AMX. See the following link: http://www.allpar.com/mopar/amc-vin.html Originally a 360 4-speed car, the 4-speed has been retained but the 360 has been swapped for a rare original 4bbl 401 from another AMX. This is not a “go-package” car, hence it does not have stripes on the hood. Overall the car is a about a 7.5 or 8 out of ten. A solid driver, possibly nicer than that (Although a set of 15in Magnum 500’s, Rally Wheels, Cragars, or Torq Thrusts would do the car wonders! I admit the wheels on it currently are pretty ugly) The pictures speak for themselves. The interior is in very good condition, no cracks in the dash. Power-steering car. Speedometer works, Tachometer needs to be hooked up. Aftermarket temp and oil pressure gauges work. Mechanically in very good condition, but could use a minor tune up, as it hasn’t been driven in a few months (other than to start the engine and drive around the block a few times). No visible rust anywhere on the underbody, body, quarter panels or anywhere. Paint is very sharp and shines very well, with a few imperfections here and there. Remember, this is a REAL 4-speed AMX (less than 15,000 made of the second gen), and has the 360 swapped for the highest spec and very rare 4bbl 401. If you have read this far you know this is not an easy to find car, especially in this condition, and with a manual transmission. The 71-74 AMX’s have a cult following due to their winning Trans-Am series provenance. Having said this, I believe I have priced the car at about what it is worth, but I am open to offers. I bought a set of 14in Magnum 500’s to put on the car, but they wouldn’t clear the front brake calipers! I have included a picture below of what they look like on the car, so you can let your imagination run wild. I believe I have described the car accurately, but please call or text me at 239-595-9838 if you have any further questions. Thank you!
