Up for auction is a 1947 Chevrolet Loadmaster Grain Truck. It has a 235 straight 6 cyl with a 5 speed transmission with a 2 speed rear end. It has not run for about 20 years. It has a 13 foot wood box which is in very good condition. It needs tires. Very sadly, in a building where it used to sit, vandles broke out the windhield and drivers door glass. Also the headlights and turn signals. For its age, it has very little in the way of rust holes - if any. The cab corners are mostly solid. The bottoms of both doors seem fine. The last time this truck was used was around 1992. I don't remember exactly what the odometer shows, but it has probably rolled over. This truck was in my family for a LONG time. It is located in Plainfield Illinois. On Apr-11-14 at 06:08:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Please observe the photos. The left fender has a pretty good size dent. The roof has some dents as well. The right fender has a minor crease. After sitting for a period of time, the brake master cylinder was empty. On Apr-11-14 at 06:17:08 PDT, seller added the following information: This truck has ALWAYS been kept under a roof. This is why the floor of the grain box is in great condition. Sometimes it may haev been kept in a barn that had no door on ot, but it was still under a roof. It is currently inside a building. When the auction has ended and the truck has been paid for; I will put it outside so that you can pick it up. I have the title. When the suction has ended, I will then make arrangements with the winning bidder on how I will get them the title - after I am paid. On Apr-11-14 at 07:45:03 PDT, seller added the following information: I just found that the odometer is showing just a bit more than 85,000 miles. At this point, I do not know if it has turned over or if it actually has 85,000. This truck has an empty weight of about 8500lbs. The gross max can be seen in the photograph of the tag - something like 15,000lbs.
