Thanks for your interest in my 1979 Honda XR500. I bought this bike a few years back and restored it in a "flat track" trim. I was drawn to this bike because of how well it ran and the fact that it was GRANDFATHERED with CA PLATES! The coolest feature about this bike is the fact that it has only the BARE MINIMUM to keep it street legal. It is basically a dirt bike with a headlight, tail light, and brake light. When I first got this bike it hadn't been registered since 1998! I was able to get it titled and re-plated with it's current trim! The bike was inspected by the CHP and CA DMV. There are VERY FEW XRs of this vintage with PLATES! Please ASK QUESTIONS!!! I have done my best to describe the condition of this bike fully.
