Vehicle Detail

I am selling my near perfect condition 1976 W115 240D...this almost 40 year old car shows less wear than cars 35 years her junior.... Here is a video I shot...this is not my strong suite, so please forgive this amateur! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3GRmAk4BZE&feature=youtu.be If there are specific pictures or video you would like to see...send me a message with your phone number and I will be happy to accommodate...Here is a link to the sales ad in August 2010 from the owner who purchased it from the original owners..I am adding this as it gives some history to the car...http://usedcarsfsbo.com/asp/Item.asp?soldid=14112&make=Mercedes-Benz&theday=8%2F29%2F2010 Car sold for almost 12K to the previous owner in 2010, who as you can see in his ad, did a lot of work on the car...I just spent $2,100 (I have the receipt) on a service and brand new, FRONT brake lines, calipers, rotors, Brake Power Booster and Brake Master Cylinder...my front brake seized, leading to my repairing the entire braking system except the rears as there was no need...Since 2010, replaced the injection pump, fuel filters, had the gas tank cleaned and sealed..cleaned out the fuel system. Replaced the subframe mounts and control arm bushings. The transmission was serviced and now the car needs to go to a new home. The paint is all original as far as I can tell and excellent. The interior is immaculate. There are two small cracks in the dash. The car overall is fantastic and could be a show car or daily driver.Must see to appreciate...I drive this daily, so the mileage may change...and, depending on where the winning bidder lives, I would be happy to deliver for the cost of return airfare! This car should be purchased by someone who appreciates the rarity of a rust free W115 240D...in exceptional condition and low mileage...the original owner went through the expense to ziebart the structure...as evidenced in the video. Here is the info sent to me from Mercedes Corporate for my VIN#:Chassis number: 115 117 12 125387Engine number: 616 916 12 030904Transmission number: 03193Exterior color code: 737 -- classic whiteInterior color code: 162 -- blue texOption codes:401 single seats426 power steering / automatic transmission, floorshift467 instruments in English / central locking491 USA version513 Becker radio524 paint coat preservation531 automatic antenna542 lockable glove box570 folding armrest586 air conditioner / electric windows593 heat insulated glass / heated rear pane621 export license plate636 elimination of warning triangle668 mode of packing VE II238 fog lamps, USA versionThe items not working:1) A/C...here is what I know. When I turn the A/C fan knob, the vents shift, so I know the vacuum actuator is doing its job. I also hear the compressor 'click' when I turn the knob, so, I know that the switch is working and electricity is getting to the compressor. I also know that the fan is not seized as I can turn the bird cage with my fingers, smoothly...I have not had this professionally looked at as A/C is not important to me in my climate. 2) Heater...the blower motor does not work...this motor is buried in the dash and not accessable without effort/money...that said, the heater blows VERY strong and VERY hot, can be too hot as the vents in the car are wonderful...so, the ONLY time you will not have heat 'blowing' is at a stop light..so, I have not looked into getting this fixed as the car heats up very nicely... 3) The idle adjuster on the dash...this is used at cold start up. The bowden cable is attached and but when turning the knob, there is no movement to increase the idle...I have not had this looked at as I simply depress the pedal slightly at cold start up...very simple... Other than that, the car is a dream... I will not accept returns...BUT, I will offer this...the buyer can short pay by $1,000. Once buyer receives the car and looks it over...if the car is not as described, the $1,000 is theirs to keep...I am 100% confident that this car will please even the most critical eyes... Good Luck! Many thanks... SHIPPING: I am happy to help coordinate on my end...all shipping costs will be covered by the buyer! DISREGARD the eBay shipping info below as eBay seems to think I can send this for $6....
