Vehicle Detail

1977 Porsche 911 "Carrera 3.0" -- model originally available in Europe only. Feel free to make all offers, no offer would be insulting to me. Everything works and is excellent condition throughout. 30-day unlimited mileage bumper to bumper warranty included if anything fails or needs repairs (longer than 30 days if buyer is outside U.S.) This car is in the United States, and has a clean and clear Florida title. Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0's were never sold in the U.S. when new. There are only a very small handful that were imported privately and legally. The number of special fitment Cabriolets in existence was calculated by representatives at Porsche of North America to be 6 in the world according to Kardex files. For the discerning collector or connoisseur. The Carrera 3.0 was only produced for 2 years (1976 & 1977)The Carrera 3.0 has extremely limited production numbers totaling 1,261 in 1977, with 0 being officially imported in the U.S.56,800 original and documented miles since day 1 leaving the Porsche factory in 1977.Includes all original books, manuals, leaflets -- all in German language -- and records since day 1 leaving the factory.Includes the original dealer brochure in German (auf Deutsch).Air conditioning was redone with upgraded R134a refrigerant (Freon) & upgraded rotary vs. upright compressor and blows Cold.Includes every maintenance receipt since new.Includes every ownership record since new.Brand new Z-rated tires in the rear, purchased several weeks ago, have exactly 11 miles on them.Includes original Wredestein jack.Includes original unused BF Goodrich space-saver collapsible spare tire and wheel.Includes original Porsche compressor and box for collapsible spare inflation.Includes original gloves issued by Porsche to be used when changing a flat.Includes complete and original tool kit that came with the car stock full of unused tools and spare drive belt.No oil leaks. Valve cover gasket seals were leaking recently, and were just replaced. No rust.Transmission shifts flawlessly in and out of every gear.Original interior -- style of the period, half tex and half velour in the front.Original dashboard with absolutely no cracks.Full tank of 93 octane fuel, driven 11 miles after fill up (same day tires were put on) which is how you will receive the car.Recent oil change.Brake pads just redone.Includes replacement rear drophead clear plastic as the current one is cloudy, ready to be installed.Includes original unblemished glove box door, as the one currently on the car had a professional movie camera mount installed on it at one time and now has black hiding buttons where the camera mount feet were. To clarify, to mount the movie camera the original glovebox door was removed and placed aside and saved and a duplicate of the original was put in place -- you will receive the unblemished original as well as the duplicate with camera mount buttons. Only someone who was incredibly particular would go to this extreme measure to keep the original glovebox door saved and unblemished. If you would like to learn more about the highly collectible "Carrera 3" since it was ahead of its time, using the same engine case from the factory as its 930 turbo cousin, you should go to the website dedicated to them, by pointing your web browser to the following web site: 911carerra3 DOT com. The factory '77 Carrera 3.0 merged the best elements of 2 of Porsche's most famous cars, the 911 2.7 RS and the 930 911 Turbo. Produced for only 2 years and sold to the European market only while the 930 Turbo and and standard 911 were also being built in 1976 and 1977 only, there were only about 3,600 Carrera 3.0's produced compared to about 58,000 911SC's. The engine in the Carrera 3.0 was as a general matter a duplicate of the Turbo 930 engine except without the addition of a Turbocharger. The Carrera 3.0's engine became the standard for the bulletproof renowned 911SC engine which is in fact the same engine as the Carrera 3.0. So if you are looking for something unique and rare while the 911SC is most certainly not rare by collection standards but that still has the robust reliability and power of the 911SC since it has the same engine, the Carrera 3.0 is the most appropriate choice. Additionally the Carrera 3.0 has nearly identical performance metrics to the famous 911 Carrera RS -- except, for example, the Carrera 3.0 acturally beats the 2.7 liter RS in 25mph-100mph acceleration. The Carrera 3.0 was offered with a 4 or 5-speed gearbox. This one has the 5-speed. This is simply a spectacular car for investment and pleasure. There are more than 1300 photographs of the car in the following album (click the "View All" button on the bottom right of the album to view past the first 100 photos automatically displayed) , followed by various videos further down: Here are several videos for your edification... The first video primarily shows a totally cold start of the engine, filmed on the first start after the car had not been started in 2 months. The primary purpose of starting the car was to take a video of it with a cold start and also to go out to get new tires so you, the new owner, would have new tires. Here's the video: The following video shows a fairly cold start, after sitting while turned off for about 45 minutes and having run before that 45 minute break for about 15 minutes after not having been started for a couple of months (video is about 2 minutes and 30 seconds long): The following video is a warm start example, also demonstrating emergency brake, glove box (about 40 seconds long): The following video shows somewhat a faster acceleration example, smooth shifting through every gear (35 seconds long): I am very flexible with payment terms, transport coordination, potentially chipping into your transport costs, flexible on the purchase price, storage. Inspections, test drives, etc., as all are welcomed. I ask that all inspections take place prior to official offer submissions. The car is a great driver or show car. All mechanical and accessory features of this car work properly, and the paint and body are in excellent shape. The sale includes a 30-day unlimited mileage bumper-to-bumper warranty, whereby seller will reimburse the buyer for any repairs arising within 30 days after clicking the Buy-It-Now or acceptance of a negotiated offer (longer than 30 days OK if buyer is outside U.S.). A deposit of $500 is due immediately if you use the Buy-It-Now, or within 24 hours if buyer has negotiated an agreed price. The remainder of the purchase price is due within 7 calendar days including the day of the ended listing on eBay (i.e., the day when you "purchased" it on eBay by clicking Buy It Now or I accepted your offer). Storage for up to 2 months is allowed at no cost to you, in other words it's FREE to store your car for 2 months. There are no additional fees that I will charge you, for storage, or anything else -- you pay me only the purchase price established on eBay. However, I am not comfortable storing it beyond 2 months and you will incur significant fees if you leave the car to stay longer than that, of $30 per day with a minimum charge of $100. For the remainder of money due after your deposit I will not accept checks of any kind, neither bank checks, nor personal checks, certified checks, nor official checks, nor registered checks or otherwise....none are accepted, period. You must pay by bank wire transfer or cash in-person. I am glad to speak to you on the phone about the car. I have 100% positive feedback going back 15 years on eBay, and it is extremely important to me that you are satisfied. Some people only have 100% positive feedback for the last 12 months and that is the percentage (%) shown when you look at their eBay profile -- but I have NEVER gotten a negative or neutral feedback, EVER, in 15 years, and many of my transactions were cars and with cars people say it is very hard to satisfy people, but for me that has never been the case that it's hard to satisfy people; I think it is easy to satisfy people. You just treat them the way that you would like to be treated, fairly and honestly and with honor and integrity. If you have been looking for a Porsche that will increase in value, you should buy the rarest and most desirable one you can afford. This is an excellent example of a car that will always increase in value, be solid and reliable, and present well for any occasion, practical use or show.
