PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO READ THIS AD FULLY!!!!!!! *****LOW RESERVE******Low Buy It Now This a for a 1997 Mercedes 500 Sl Roadster.This car was over 80K new.I bought this as a play toy but it needs motor work(head gasket) that I am not able to do.So my loss will be someones gain.Even though this car cranks and runs and has a clean Alabama title I am selling it *****AS IS with motor problems******.The car cranks and runs but will need to be towed or transported to its new home.The motor is tight with no noises.It has great oil pressure.It was skipping when I bought it.I put 8 new plugs in it and I replaced one of the coils and it ran smooth but steamed out the tail pipe and bubbles in the coolant recovery tank.The head gasket on the driverside is leaking into the combustion chamber.There is NO water in the oil.The very rearmost driver side cylinder is the problem one.The car drives good and the trans shifts smooth.The A/C works.The car has a recent battery and a new power steering pump assy.The body is very straight and the paint for the most part is still nice and shiney,a few very small dings and small chips.The leather seat bottoms need recovering.The dash is crack free and all the gauges work along with the power seats.The carpet is good but could use some cleaning.The front windshield is cracked.The power windows and power tilt column work fine.The top does not work automaticly,but It can be put up and down manually.I have photos up it up and down along with the hardtop installed.The top switch and roll bar switch stay lit up all the time.Both tops are in good shape.The roll bar wind screen is still in the trunk.The spare has never been used.The rims are all in good shape.This is a solid Rust free Southern car.This car is worth more in parts than my reserve.
