Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is an absolutely unbelievably documented and original 1975 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400. This firebird was an absolute barn find, having sat in Modesto, Ca since 1995 in a barn. This car was just recently discovered and fully detailed and brought back to running condition. Every option on this car is numbers matching and verified through the data tag and vin number. The car was originally built in Norwood, Ohio and first sold in San Diego, California. The car remained in the original family until discovered weeks ago in the barn. The car has factory air conditioning, 400 Pontiac big block with the original Rochester 4 barrel carburetor, white deluxe interior with bucket seats, original GM rubber floor mats, original California blue plates in excellent condition, remote driver side mirror, original pontiac rally wheels with original trim rings and center caps, original trunk mat, original space saver spare tire with all original jack and tools, and all original California emissions equipment. This car is a true, rust free California survivor with 90% original paint, having had both rear quarter panels repainted in 1990. At the time of the repaint the original white vinyl top was removed and the roof was sprayed white to keep from deteriorating. As if the condition of the car is not impressive enough, the documentation that goes along with this car is absolutely unheard of. This firebird comes with every single original owners manual, warranty card, and booklet from brand new, every single registration card from the original temporary issued on November 27, 1974, the day it left the show room floor, to the day it was parked in 1995, original dealership folder from John Hine Pontiac of San Diego for important documents from sale, and service receipts dating back to the late 1970s. All electronics, including the original clock, still work. An after market kenwood radio was added at some point in the late 80s. The car runs, drives, and stops phenomenally even after sitting for almost 20 years. This car is a legitimate museum piece with an incredible story to go along with it. Pictures documenting the car sitting in the barn and being pulled out will be included in the sale. Below is a link to my photobucket page with over 100 pictures of the car.
