Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1968 Short Wheel Base 911 Coupe. This car is a numbers matching car in its original color per the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. While the original color, the car has had a re-spray prior to my ownership. The paint is felt to be in decent driver condition but is not perfect. The interior has new carpeting and a newer headliner. The rest of the interior is mostly original with the original seats as well as the one year only dash and uncut (no aftermarket speaker holes) one year only door panels. The car has its original numbers matching 2 liter six cylinder engine #3282291 which is believed to be an "L" engine (I am unsure of the significance of this if any as the car is a standard coupe and not an L). Regardless, the engine is correct to the car. The pictures show the car with both chrome rims as well as rare period Cosmic Alloy rims. The photos of the chrome rims have been included to illustrate what the car looked like when new per the CA. Please NOTE that the car is being sold with the period Cosmic Alloys shoed with brand new Potenza tires, and NOT the chrome rims. ** The car is sold with the rare "star style Cosmic alloy rims. NOT the chrome rims** The car drives well and is very strong with no smoke. Transmission was rebuilt approx. 1.5 years ago. At the same time new updated timing chain tensioners were installed. Those who know Long Nose 911's know there are only two types. Those that need their suspension pan replaced, and those that have had it replaced. This car's suspension pan has been professionally replaced during my ownership and is as solid as new. The rest of the underside is in very good condition with no obvious signs of rust. The body is straight as an arrow with perfect door fit and no rust. Bottom of the doors show the folded lip as Porsche built-it with no signs of Bondo. In addition, I have the original owner's manual as well as the original Porsche maintenance record book (see photos). These books along with the certificate of authenticity will be included in the sale. These documents also show this car to have been a Florida car most if not all of its life. I will make the car available for inspection by appointment, and recommend those seriously interested in doing so. All inspections must be made prior to the end of the auction. If you are not prepared to buy, please don't bid. The car is located in Seminole Florida which is in the Tampa Bay area. My e-mail address is drivea356@gmail.com I reserve the right to cancel this auction at anytime or any reason prior to the conclusion date. Payment must be made within 7 days of the end of the auction via wire transfer. NO other form of payment will be accepted! Delivery, shipping, or pick up is the sole responsibility of the purchaser. The car must be picked up within ten days of end of auction (If I had room for it, I wouldn't be selling it!).
