Vehicle Detail
***1968 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL SEDAN SURVIVOR ONE FAMILY OWNED OVER 40 YEARS*** ***RUNS DRIVES FINE --- BLACK PAINT BLACK VINYL TOP RED LEATHER*** This is a 1968 Lincoln Continental four door sedan that the owner asked me to list. The car was bought from a car dealer in 1969 or 1970 by his mother. She drove the car until 2008 when she passed away; then her son inherited it. The car has always been garaged until recently. The owner has lost storage so he has decided to sell this car. It has been repainted one time. The interior, trim, chrome, engine, etc is all original. The cosmetics have aged but are still presentable. Engine fires right up and runs fine. Everything works on the car except the AC which needs a charge. The radio antenna goes up when the radio is turned on and the gas gauge works. Car has the original floor mats and owner's manual. It has a couple of small dents and a little bit of rust starting on the rear quarters - look at the photos. This car is priced to sell. If you would like to look at the car, go for a ride or talk to the owner just email for his phone number. Car is black with a black vinyl top and has red leather interior. It still has the original hub caps on P235X75X15 tires. It has the famous doors with the rear ones opening from the front. It was garaged since purchased until recently. Floors are solid. You may not be able to see them but there are ground straps under the car that have been there since it was purchased by the current owner's mother back in 69 or 70. At that time the car had 20K miles on it. The car dealer told them the car was owned by a railroad executive and the car had a phone with a large box in the trunk. The ground straps were needed for it. She's a beauty - trunk opens and closes easily as does the hood. Interior is the original red leather. Plenty of room for everyone Yes, the original leather has aged. Original carpet is in really great condition. Seats are thickly padded. It has all the seat belts. Rear seat It shows 78051 miles - see title below. Dash has some cracking Glove box Headliner The panels were removed on the driver side doors to fix the windows. All windows work and the panels are included with the car - they just need to be installed. Rear door driver side Passenger door panel Passenger rear door panel Sill plate 462 engine fires right up and has good compression Engine sounds and runs good Power brakes Original air cleaner sticker AC needs a charge - everything else works Fan and shroud Original valve cover sticker Big engine to pull a big automobile Underside of hood still has factory insulation Trunk opens easily Underside of trunk lid Original sticker Spare has a cover - the spare tire is new Center of trunk Passenger side of trunk Driver side of trunk VIN on dash - I know you can't see it but it is there and matches the title Overspray on door tag from the one repaint Original tire pressure sticker Title - we checked all the old inspection stickers for the car and found that it turned over 100K in 1980. It now has 178K on it though it doesn't look it. DMV put the mileage down on the title. Glove box with original owner's manual Manual is in great shape Sharp grill Paint is still glossy Owner's mother bumped something at a gas station - note cracked paint. Driver front fender Tinted windshield - antenna goes up when radio is turned on Straight body Doors open and close properly To the left just above the tire some rust is trying to start A little rust is trying to start low on the quarter panel Back glass Deck lid Chrome and trim have aged over the years Move the Continental emblem to insert trunk key Passenger quarter panel You can see where some rust is trying to start Note paint reflections Vinyl top is original Owner says a small tree branch knocked off some of the vinyl top Has those cool looking doors The owner's mother scraped the passenger front fender. I felt it and it is a small dent/ding in the body line. If you are seriously interested in this car my advice is to come and see it. The car is located in Henrico, Virginia. Car is a short drive from I-295 which connects I-64 and I-95.
