Vehicle Detail

no reserve, car goes to high bidder RELISTING DUE TO A SECOND BUYER NOT FOLLOWING THROUGH, not refunding the deposit, buyer is accross the country and decided a week later that he's not comfortable buying a car this way on ebay...don't bid if your not going to buy..the car has a clear pensylvania title. this is just a great driving old 39 buick, i took this car on a trade recently but i'm really more into muscle cars, so the sale of this car will go to the purchase of something more for me, anyway, this car does appear to have had a restoration somewhere in it's lifetime not too long ago, the repaint shines very nice and appears to have been done very well, no runs or anything like that, looks to be a above average paint job, the frame looks as if it was blasted and painted a period correct satin black, all the lines under the car appear new, the fuel tank appears new, all the steel and rubber lines too, front end parts all appear to have been replaced at one time or another, front end is tight, tires are a nice wide white wall and in great shape, the chrome is nice, headlight rings are ok but i would update them with new ones, the straight 8 engine runs good and moves the car pretty good down the road and drives nicely, carb could use a slight adjustment but nothing major, just running a bit rich i think but starts and runs good, engine is very clean with no leaks and looks as if it were either cleaned very well or rebuilt, trans shifts great through all the gears and has a turn signal lever on the shifter itself, turn signal work fine, tail lights and brake lights work fine too, headlight also working fine, , the horn is working fine the 2 brown knobs under the dash to the left of the steering wheel , they may be for a heater, not sure so i can't say if the heater works, if i get a chance i'll check it out but honestly, it's too damn cold here in the northeast right now to pull the car out of the garage and tinker with it and no room in the garage to even walk around the car let alone work on it in there. i had it out yesterday to take a short ride just to keep everything moving in it and ran and drive fine, the interior does have a very original look and was redone to look period correct in a tan upholstery fabric, new door panels and new headliner, they all look great, all door handles and window cranks are in place and intact, all the glass looks good, the small vent window on the passenger side does has a little discoloration but nothing is cracked and all windows roll up and down fine, all the seals in the doors and trunk are in good shape, the windlace around the doors is all in good shape and looks new,the truck area has all been re-done and also looks very correct and original looking for the car. small flag holder on the front bumper great for those local parades can easily be removed. ...it's not a 100 point show car, but i'm not looking for $25,000 either, but it has been restored very well and not far from perfect, obvious someone put a lot of time and mony into this car. it can be driven just as is....all wiring looks good, all belts and hoses look good, some owners manual and repair manual come with it...clear Pa. title...the car was sold once before on ebay for $12,000 but the bidder backed out, he has been blocked from this auction this time...UPDATE,,twice now someone has been high bidder , paid the deposit and changed there mind a week later,,DEPOSITS are not refundable, if you are not comfortable buyer a car long distance, don't bid on a car 2000 miles away,,,i have given the best description i can about the car, if there is anything else you can think of to ask, feel free to ask away. i will answer any questions you have and stay in contact throughout the transaction...deposit is due within 48 hours and full payment is due within 3 days. i will gladly assist and shipper in loading the car and highly recommend "closed carrier" shipping. i was asked by someone today {2-24-14} that if i were to keep the car, what improvements would i make. honestly, due to the car not being used all that much, the most i would do is change the oil, flush and fill the antifreeze and install new plugs and points, better yet, do away with the oints and install a petronix "no point" system, the carburator could use a minor adjustment but thats about it, nothing major at all On Feb-10-14 at 16:26:12 PST, seller added the following information: ""CORRECTION------it is not a "super",,,it is a 1939 buick "SPECIAL", i will try to get more info on a model from the vin number, which is 13529160, it was originally titled on 3/1/39 On Feb-10-14 at 16:43:24 PST, seller added the following information: the plate on the firewall says it is a "model 41" and the style is "39-4419" On Feb-15-14 at 09:40:40 PST, seller added the following information: here is a youtube video link, if it does not open,,copy and paste it to your browser or email be and i'll send it directly to you,,,http://youtu.be/pyt9eDveSZ8 """""""THE CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY, SO I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE SALE AND ANY BIDS SHOULD THE CAR SELL LOCALLY UNLESS A DEPOSIT HAS ALREADY BEEN MADE"""""" ps ps ps ps ps ,,,there is another 39 buick special listed on ebay just like mine,,the differnce is that that one is in alabama, it apperas that it needs interior work, it has not been restored, it is an option for you if this one is too much,,,the difference in this one is that the underside has been completly restored, blasted and repainted underside, every line for fuel and brakes is new, the tank is new, the interior is new, has turn signals, new wide white wall tires, engine bay is super clean, steering has no play and is tight, all the rubber light boots and seals as well as fender welting have all been replaced,,your basically getting a restored car that could only benefit from a fluid change and new plugs and points, that would be all it needs mechanically to improve on it,,,bodywise, i would only suggest new headlight rings, they are a bit worn, they shine but the chrom on them is a bit worn and the steering wheel chrome horn ring is a bit shabby, the steering wheel itself is very good and the center horn section is good too, horn does work...if you are down south, and $9,000 is too much for a restored 39 buick, i suggest taking a look at the one listed in alabama that has not been restored, it's a few grand cheaper. depends on what your looking for,,,happy bidding and good luck bidding ! 2-26-14 was asked today if it was a "frame off" restoration,,,,most of the bolts on the front and rear fenders are new so it does appear the whole car was dismantled , the frame was painted and then reassembled with all new bolts and seals on the lights and fenders. WARNING !!! 2-28-14,,,,2 local people are considering the car , just letting all the "watchers" know, this auction may be ended early for a local sale unless there is a bid higher then the starting price....
