Vehicle Detail

It pains me to have to do this but being the motorbike enthusiast I am, there's just so many motorbikes out there I want that I need to sell my current love to make room for the next. If you are reading this, than I'm sure you understand. She is a real head turner and always strikes up a conversation wherever I take her. What you see before you is a completely custom built British inspired Cafe Racer. The inspiration came from the 1965 Ford Lotus race car. Google image 65 Ford Lotus race car and you shall see what inspired this creation. This machine started out as a 1985 Honda VT700 Shadow. Yes, a Honda Shadow. I know.....they are quite hideous but I wanted to create something different. Attempt something no one has attempted before and I think the end result was quite phenomenal considering what I started out with. If you don't know what a 85 Honda Shadow looks like,Google image will show you a good before and what you see today is after. I always liked the sound & performance of a V-Twin engine. The torque from this machine is phenomenal! Not to mention the maintenance free shaft drive. No need to hassle with a chain. Countless hours of custom fabrication was put into this machine. The frame was completely reworked to accept the custom "V-mounted" rear suspension with external reservoirs. The frame was freshly powder coated after it was torn down and reworked and braced. The tank & cowl was professionally painted British Racing Metallic Green on a nice Yellow for the racing stripe. Finished off with 5 coats of clear. I have receipts totaling over $2K in maintenance & repair done in the last year. This machine is solid and has never let me down. At heart, its a Honda Shadow and is great for long trips and rides. She loves the highway and with the custom suspension, she rides a whole lot better than any Honda Shadow out there when it comes to the twisties. A little about the custom work and work done in the past year:-Custom fabricated swing arm to accept custom V-Mounted rear suspension-Gas Tank is a NOS all steel Benelli Mojave tank from the 60's-New custom fabricated billet aluminum Rear Sets/Foot controls for the perfect riding position-Rebuilt/restored Yamaha Hand controls & NOS Vintage Gum Grips w/Clip-On handle bars-Professionally painted British Metallic Green with Yellow with 5 coats of clear-Custom fabricated seat/cowl with brake/tail light built in-New Glass mat battery & all electronics/wiring hidden under tank & seat/cowl tucked away nicely-Custom hand sewn & stitched premium leather seat in a diamond pattern w/green piping-Both carbs replaced & have been completely rebuilt with factory rebuilt kit w/new bellows-New aluminum radiator w/polished stainless steel overflow reservoir-Brushed aluminum headlight bracket w/CB750 headlight, yellow w/stainless steel rock guard -New Norton Commando "Pea Shooter" mufflers w/high temp exhaust wrap safety wired.-Dual disc front brakes w/steel braided brake lines. New DOT 5 brake fluid recently flushed.-Quiet & clean shaft drive, also recently serviced with new fluid-Easy to see analog oil pressure gauge-All new push/pull throttle cables with new electronic starter/kill controls-New BSA choke cable & switch-New Mikuni external fuel pump installed for better flow & fuel distribution-New Pirelli front & rear tires (They still even have the nobs!) -New Lube oil & filter-New coolant & system flushed-New cooling fan installed & wired with thermo switch. (never have to worry about overheating)-New fork seals-New custom mounted Tool Bag w/factory took kit & new spark plugs insideThe list goes on as you can see from the pics. That's really all I can think of right now. This is really truly one of a kind motorbike. You will never see another like it. Dare to be different. Its not your typical CB350/CB750 that everyone has. It's not a cookie cutter bike by any means. A true Cafe Racer....a minimalist style machine. The motorbike runs, rides and stops great. Like I said, I have never had any issues with it. I have the clean Oregon title in hand, signed and ready to go! Comes with an extra set of spoked rims for that vintage look. Also comes with a factory Honda manual and a Clymer manual. Here's the deal.......I'm originally from Socal & moved to Portland OR like 7yrs ago. I recently hauled the motorbike back home to Socal for the holidays & left it with my brother-in-law as I feel a bike of this caliber will have a greater audience and appreciation down there than it would here in Portland. Also when having a motorbike shipped, I found it to be cheaper to ship from Socal than from Portland. I have used U-Ship in past and have had great results so I recommend using U-Ship unless you have you own shipping company. So all questions will be directed towards me as I am the seller. My brother-in-law is not a motorbike guy and knows nothing about motorbikes. He is only there to facilitate the transaction and show you the motorbike. ***AGAIN PLEASE DIRECT ALL QUESTIONS TO ME *** The motorbike is located in the city of Orange for viewing at his work so it will be readily available for showing during the week & business hours. I will provide you with my brother-in-laws name & number once we confirm that you are serious and interested. I don't want to bother him frequently with tire kickers. Lets not waste each others time. I will respect your time so please respect ours in return. I am a honest seller with a close to 800 100% positive feedback rating on eBay. There will be NO TEST RIDES WITHOUT CASH IN HAND. You drop it, you bought it. Simple as that. Sorry but I had a guy come & see one of my bikes in past and he said he knew how to ride and lost control and did a low speed low side crash. Granted nothing major happen....needless to say, he didn't even take the bike after that. I'm not going through that again, especially on a motorbike with this much work done to it. I've also attach youtube links so that you can hear the bike run & see the bike run on its own momentum. Starting & stopping. You will see that the bike is also started dead cold as I grab the exhausts and the machine will idle on its own. She is a little cold blooded at cold start at times. A little choke will be good at first and once she's warmed up. Off the choke and she's good. http://youtu.be/iCnCoe6gr_shttp://youtu.be/NwOp4gyLeP8Please email me or call/text at 9-four-nine-3-one-five-1-zero-two-nine. If you call & I don't pick up right away, leave me a message and I will return your call once I'm free. I cant always pick up while at work.Thank you again for looking & your interest. Trust me, when you see her in person you will understand and appreciate her beauty. She shows a lot better in person as pictures doesn't do her justice. You will not be disappointed! Dare to be different! This is the Cafe Racer you've always dreamed of. P.S.When towing, one of the straps broke the bracket for the speedo bucket so its currently taped up to keep it from moving around & falling. I was planning on putting an electronic speedo/tachometer on it like a Trailtech otherwise you can find another speedo on eBay for cheap. It's also not a show bike so there are a few knicks on the bike & I had the cowl rewelded recently due to a section cracking when I accidentally dropped the cowl while taking it off to charge the battery so there is a section on the cowl thats touched up on the welds and a good penny sized crack in the paint thats also touched up.On Feb-10-14 at 19:07:56 PST, seller added the following information: **** spoked / laced rims in pics will be included with sale for that vintage look ***
