Owner history: The bike is a Southern California bike purchased in Los Angeles 1978. This bike has has always been garaged and well cared for.This R100S was stored the last 10 years or so with little activity, but it was still run regularly and kept in a garage. The bike has a current CA title. This bike has air pump (with cap), Riders manual, factory three key set. The actual total accumulated mileage on this bike is 36,295 (US miles) but it seems to have stop turning recently.The motorcycle has survived with all the original components and paint in excellent condition. There is no active corrosion on the bike. This bike never had any modifications or changes to the electrical system. It was never wrecked or tipped over to the best of my knowledge. Its been well looked after with owner pride and serviced as recommended by BMW.This is an investment grade, exceptionally nice, 1977 R100S with a lot of nice components that will make an excellent long term investment and nice fun bike and special day rider. Original factory installed items still on the bike are as follows: The mufflers are the originals in good condition (no rust or dents just aged spots in the high heat areas of the tail cones and mid transitions). The right side has a very small acid stain below the passenger peg (as most BMW of this vintage had the vented acid batteries that were common). The luggage bags are in good shape and in working condition. one bag has a crack along the top but does not affect the operation. The tool kit seems to be complete. I did install koni shocks years ago also a deep dish oil pan. I'm no sure if the clock works or keeps good time.
