History: This is a 1968 four door Plymouth Valiant Model 100 which was purchased new by the original owner in Topeka. KS. The owner moved to Naples, FL and decided to trade in the car to a Ford Dealership in Naples. I purchased the vehicle from the dealership in 2007 and have driven the car very sparingly due to family health problems and not having the time due to other family commitments Exterior Condition: The car's exterior paintwork is in really good condition despite some minor dings and hard to find touch ups. Even from close inspection it's difficult to find much fault with the paintwork and with a coat of wax it really shines. The rubber weather stripping around the windows is also in great shape with no cracking since the car has always been garaged or under a carport. The chrome is also in very good condition and there are no rust areas or flaking which is common in cars' of this age. The front grill is very attractive and completely intact and really shines as you can see in the pictures. There is a red pinstripe that runs the length of the car on both sides and it is encased in bright aluminum and has never been refinished and is in terrific shape. Overall, the outside condition of the car is in very good condition when you consider that it is 46 years old. The doors all close as they should with a very firm bank vault type sound and the windows all roll up and down evenly and cleanly. The window glass is clean with no cracks and the windshield and back glass are also intact and look really good. The back window was designed with a slight curve to it and it really is a great design statement for this car. There is some minor surface rust under the rear quarters but it's surface rust only and can be treated and painted. Engine: All original engine with a rebuilt Holley Carb that was installed in the last six months. The transmission shifts smoothly and all the engine components are intact. The windshield washer reservoir is cracked but it can be replaced with a used one from a junk yard or purchased new on the internet for under $ 70. The Slant Six engine is a very reliable power plant that will get you down the road quite swiftly! I have the original Chrysler certicard that the dealers would put in the owners manual so that is provided to the winning bidder. Interior Condition: The interior is completely original and the dash is in fantastic condition with no cracking around the vinyl surround which encases the dash. The instruments all work with the exception of the speedometer needle and that may be caused by a faulty speedometer cable which is not a major fix. The odometer works and accurately records the miles driven and the other gauges all function. The radio works really well and plays beautifully through the original car speakers. The bench seats are all vinyl and are not cracked or split but there is some sag to the drivers seat which is to be expected in a car of this age. The seat belts are all original and the ones put in by the factory. The headliner is intact and in very good condition and the overhead light works well. The turn signal flashers work well and the flasher itself is loud enough for the driver to hear that they have the turn signal activated. The trunk has a new trunk mat that replicates the original and the sheet metal in the trunk is rust free. There is a sticker in the trunk for the jack instructions and the jack is intact with all the pieces required to change the tire if needed. There is no air conditioning with this vehicle but if you roll down the windows on both sides you get a cooling breeze as you cruise the streets! I have kept the car on the road since I purchased it and it has always been actively licensed and registered/titled. I have clear title to the vehicle and the Chrysler Certicard and the original owners manual all come with the car. The winning bidder will get a set of dog dish hub caps that go with the vehicle in addition to the ones that are shown on the car. In addition. I will provide a Haynes and a Chiltons repair guide and original literature on the vehicle.
