Boy, the market is weird on values for these! I saw one bring $5900 last week with the main difference being a painted frame, painted engine and polished aluminum parts (what, $300 to make this bike nearly identical to that one?). You can see the selling history of these here on eBay and elsewhere bringing $2500 to $3500 in worse condition than this one (mine is very nice). 1971 Honda SL-70 in Light Ruby Red. Engine number: SL70E-122637 (no punch marks near engine number). The bike starts first kick and idles, shifts and runs like new. Beautiful low usage/always garaged condition with no rust. The bike still had the original Nitto tires on it with 1/3rd tread left. It has a new paint job, seat cover and tires/tubes. The bike exhibits much of it's original patina. It received a complete tune up along with fork seals, brake shoes, air filter, carb to air box rubber, oil seals for the kick start shaft and shift shaft. Also a new carb float, needle & seat and gaskets. The tank is nice on the inside and has not been cleaned or coated (you may want to clean; your choice, but not necessary). No gas or oil leaks. All new grey cables. New chain and sprockets. The original tail light bracket was bent and cracked (un-restorable). It has an excellent 1971 Honda SL-350 unit on it which bolts right up at the back with the stock rubbers and spacers and easily mounts at the front (no rubbers or spacers). All original Honda parts have been used and all bolts and screws are correct and in the right places. I have added an original Honda (from another model) bendable cable guide at the right carb attaching bolt to secure the plug wire from contacting the cylinder. The lights will need to be looked into as they are not working. Bulbs, battery & fuse, all grounds look excellent, but will need additional diagnosis - shouldn't be a big deal. There are some scratches on the top of the headlight rim and a small short dent on the left front rim which can be hard to find. Included is the original Owners Manual and it is in near new condition. I failed to remove the tape that was "setting" the rear exhaust warning decal in the main pictures. I have added a picture with the tape removed. This would be an easy candidate to make it "perfect" if you wish. Please note that this is being sold with a BILL OF SALE - NO TITLE. The "other" selection was not listed like it normally is to state that it comes with a bill of sale, so "clear" was the best choice to use. Thanks for looking!
