Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1967 Triumph Bonneville. Purchased used from Roman Cycle Shop in Youngstown, OH. in 1995. Johnny Roman Cycle was one of the premier Triumph dealers in the country for many years. I bought a 1969 Bonneville and a 1973 BMW R75/5 from Johnny which I still have today. The 1967 Bonneville has sat in owners garage for a few years. Ran fine when parked for good a few years ago. Please put us in your favorite seller list so you will be notified as owner also has a white 1973 Triumph T140 which will probably be listed in a month or so. Please do not inquire about it at this time as owner wants to see how this auction goes.Bike was repainted prior to purchasing. Although tank paint job is very good it is not original color of aubergine (deep dark red) top with white bottom. There is a 1/4" size chip of paint missing from tank near seat. It is in the red paint and since is right by seat it isn't very noticeable. The stainless steel fenders are original.Another "change" is the Mikuni. I believe they are 30mm. I pulled a slide and it looks almost new. K&N "pancake" air filters mounted on Mikuni's. A few other modifications, as seen in pictures, is a finned manifold adapter, larger finned header clamps, chrome gauge covers, finned point cover, rocker boxes chromed, and a chrome aftermarket chainguard. All three aluminum engine covers are in great condition...no dents, gouges, or heavy scratches. Can be polished to look new. Even the triangular "patent plate" is original and looks good. Engine side cover/s condition has always been an indicator, to me, of how a Triumph has been cared for....these are excellent. The 1967 Bonneville (and Trophy/Tiger) models had a few changes from previous models such as:Hepolite heavier duty pistonsStronger connecting rodsA "hotter" exhaust cam (E3134)Better tappet oil feedGearbox fitted with better 2cd gear shift forkChangover of some British Standard threads to UNF (USA)Slimmer tank and seat (now rolled & pleated)Newer advance mechanism for pointsChangover from Lucas to Mazda bulbsSteering locking mechanism added The T120R has good compression. Needs a battery. Although tires show slight age cracking they have alot of tread. Front tire is a 3.25 X 19" Continental and rear is 120/90-18" 65H Metzler Metronic.Raer stainless fender has two small cracks at rear, a reoccuring problems on Triumph stainless fenders over time.Unknown if mileage is correct. Appears by condition of bike to be correct.Seat frame is solid. Battery carrier is not shown in the one picture. We do have it.T120 does have matching numbers. Paint on oil tank and side cover is extremely good. Tank paint is exceptional.I am going to go back to check inside of tank. I have left myself open for a few more pictures. If I find something negative I will repost info and/or picture.Frease Motorcycle Restoration has sold about 50 bikes in the past decade without any negative feedback on them.Buyer is 100% responsible for securing transport/shipping. We will hold the T120 for up to 60 days, free of charge, as long as payment instructions are followed. If a bank check or money order is used for balance the bike cannot be taken until such funds clear the bank or institution. For out of country buyers we will crate the Bonneville for $280. A $400 deposit is required via PayPal within 48 hours of auction end with balance due within 7 days. These requirements can be slightly modified at buyers request as long as we agree to same.We reserve the right to cancel and block any bidder with less than 10 feedback or any bidder with unpaid strike against them or a feedback percentage of less than 90. Over the years I have had to deal with such "problems" more often than any legitimate eBayer should. If you cannot complete the transactions necessary to purchase this beautiful motorcycle please do not bid at all. I appreciate it very much.As there is no reserve on the T120 we wish all bidders good luck. As we have bike listed in a few other classic bike buy/sell sites we reserve the right to pull auction upon a legitimate sale through any of those venues. On Jan-14-14 at 19:21:21 PST, seller added the following information: I checked out the inside of tank. It has fuel in it but actually that is good as there is no rust since fuel is up over tank middle where rust usually occurs. I noticed upon closer inspection, however, that there was/is a cylinder base gasket leak. I tightened all the base nuts up...they all turned about half a turn so it may help. However once oil starts flowing through a gasket it usually will slow down with tightening however it wont stop it completely I have found.
