Vehicle Detail
1993 Volkwagen Eurovan with a slight scratch on the passenger side. It was either have a 10-12 point buck in my lap last fall or hit a guardrail. In hindsight I'm not sure I made the right choice. You can see the bad from the pics and I'll give you the good as it is. This van was a faithful steed that we loved camping in. I maintained it well. It had the transmission rebuilt in January 2009 to the tune of $2800....I still have the receipt. I put a new heater core in it 2-3 years ago and at that time replaced every hose on the thing...even the ones going to the auxillary heater in the back. It runs and drives. Drove it home...a 2 hour drive after the accident. I start it every month or so and take it up and down our road. The tires are pretty well shot. If it weren't for a couple almost baldies I wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere. The starting price is local scrap value. I hate to see it go that way. Hopefully someone has some use for it. The passenger door and sliding door will not open. I'm sure they will with a crow bar but haven't went that route. On Jan-14-14 at 09:57:06 PST, seller added the following information: Added some pics of the inside and outside of the pop top. There appears to have been repairs made to the right rear corner and lower front of the top. I didn't do them...must have been the previous owner. They are made with some type of cloth tape and adhesive. Appear to have been done right. We have used and used this thing camping and have never had any leaks. Also looked at the outer boots on the CV joints. All is well there...no cracks. Didn't pull the big ugly pan under the front of the engine to see the inners. Other notes....I have the the passenger side jump seat....I just never used it so took it out. In fact I have a box of stuff...I took out all the seat belts for the jump seats but have them.....took out all the headrests in the back...have them. Also there is an auxillary battery under the drivers seat to operate the cooler and interior lights in the back. It was toast when we got the van and it was frustrating to not be able to use the interior lights when camping so I jumped some of that wiring to run off the engine battery. I saved any part of the wiring harness that was there that I took off so it can all be put back if needed. I think that's about it other than I'm not ending the auction early so quit asking......that's why it's call an auction. I'm happy to field any more questions. On Jan-16-14 at 10:07:55 PST, seller added the following information: Hey folks...this auction is ending Saturday morning. About 3:00 A.M. Saturday I am heading to Chicago to look at a Hudson Eight engine so won't be around to answer last minute questions. If you've got a burning question better ax it before Friday late or you won't get it answered. Happy Bidding.
