Vehicle Detail

1964 Datsun Roadster SPL310 00037 perhaps the earliest remaining roadster out there... Car is very much in need of a full restoration... the car was largely taken apart. Much of the car is present not every thing is in the pictures so if your in doubt please ask. i will be posting questions and answers to help every one who is looking at the car as much as possible. Feel free to ask questions and to give me a call if you like. What is great about this old car is that it is incredibly solid, solid rockers, doors, floors, trunk floor, body etc... This is not to suggest that there is no rust what so ever but what I am seeing is that most of the rust present is surface and not rust through. The car was clearly stored dry for many years. Not suggesting for a moment that will have no metal work to do but most of it will be straightening out lumps and bumps not making new metal. i am selling the car for a client, and am not the owner, I do have the title and rights to sell the car for the client. Anyone wanting to buy the car out right i will have to clear it with the owner. The car is registered as a 1965 but I believe it is in reality a 1964 and a very low serial number. The serial number does indeed match the title. The car has the early style transmission but I am pretty certain that the engine is a 1600 and not the correct 1500. The car is a drum brake car and there is a box with new brake shoes and wheel cylinders... I have not inspected it just casually looked at the bits. There are new shock absorbers in the parts as well. The gauges are all all present, no keys, all the switches were removed from the dash but are all labeled. There is a DVD with pictures from when the car was taken apart. 5 new in 2012 Uniroyal tires on cleaned up and re painted rims. NO hubcaps. All seats including the very rare 3rd rear sideways rear seat. Upholstery is all dead and will have to be re done. The car has an aftermarket hard top and new soft top. The soft top frame is in very good condition and not rusty from what I have seen. The gas tank is out of the car but looks to be in reasonable condition, probably want to have it cleaned and sealed.Straps for the tank look to be in very good shape. There is a box included with new rubber plugs for the floors. Bumpers are in very good condition. Trim mostly complete, missing at least one of the Fairlady scripts (driver side) The body has some places that have clearly got filler in them. the car comes with two trunk lids. Driveshaft is present, I am still looking to see if we can find the starter motor. wiring seems in tact and in reasonable condition but if your going to do a full on restoration, then your likely going to get a new harness if avaialble. There is a very nice factory parts book and a selection of period factory paint chips. The car has a clear Washington State title and plates for 2012. Again the car is represented as being mostly complete but no guarantees as to how much is missing, see the pictures and see if your comfortable bidding or just ask. The one guarantee I would make is that you will be out buying lots of parts to complete the restoration. There are several decent boxes of bits and hardware that I am not interested in taking the time to inventory but if you have a specific question please ask I will look to the best of my ability. Good news is the very difficult to find air box is present and in good shape. Car rolls very easily and will go on a truck or trailer with no problem. Please if you are some distance from Washington state please check to see what it is going to cost you to ship it before you commit a bid. For more info please feel free to contact me, Jim 425 238 5317 West Coast time zone, reasonable hours please. Note the car is in Clinton WA and is FOB Clinton, happy to help you arrange shipping but the cost of shipping is solely that of the new owner.
