Vehicle Detail
This Samurai is not your normal Samurai. It has a New R22 Toyota motor $2,000, Toyota axles, rear ends, and a 4 speed Toyota transmission and transfer case. I have put New lockers $500 in both rear ends, and put New low range gears $450 in the transfer case, with a gear ratio of 4.7 to 1. Stock ratio was 2 to 1. It has New header$150, New Holley 350 carb $180, New performance DUI distributor $500, New Live wire plug wires $75, New HD clutch, pressure plate, and T/O bearing $165, New fly wheel $90, New gas tank $145, New radiator $180, New 4 aluminum mags$500, New 4 BF Goodrich 32X11.50 R15 mud terrain tires $1,000. New 2" exhaust with new flow master muffler $230. New water temp gauge $30. It also has Oil pressure, and Amp gauges. New tack $80. New electric cooling fan $85. New battery $85. New starter $135. New alternator $260. New full top $175. New mesh half summer top $65. All these things were bought new at the time the Samurai was being built. I paid $1800 for the Samurai "not running" because the body was in such good shape. I am sure there are other things that I can't remember just now. The doors come off in about 10 seconds for summer, with New quick release straps. The heater, blower fan, wipers and all lights work including the turn signals. It has New tail lights on both sides. It is tagged and I have driven it on the road, interstate as well as in the woods. The stock Samurai came with a 68 Horse Power motor, this Toyota motor has about 120 HP, and with the lockers and improved low range gears it is almost unstoppable. because all 4 wheels pull, even if 3 are off of the ground. The one on the ground is still pulling, and soon it will have another one on the ground and you are gone. This Samurai runs great, shifts smooth, and climbs like a Squirrel. The only thing left to do is a paint job. Please ask all questions before bidding. I have decribed it as honest as possible, but there is no warranty, and all sales are final. I do reserve the right to end the auction early, due to it being for sale locally. On Jan-12-14 at 17:02:52 PST, seller added the following information: I just wanted to add, I have over $8000 in the Samurai body, New motor and the New parts. I have over $3000 in labor building the motor and Samurai, because I wanted it done RIGHT. I realize that I won't get the $11000 I have invested, and knew this when I was having it built. But a 4 wheeler runs $5000 to $6000, and a side X side runs $11000 to $14000. And then you need a trailer to haul them on to where you are going into the woods. You can drive this Samurai to where ever it is that you want to go 4 wheeling. And I have driven this Samurai on the road, and on Interstate 40 between Knoxville and the Dollywood exit at interstate speed. Which on that section of interstate is posted 65, but traffic runs between 80 and 85 mph. It ran at these speeds with a lot of pedal left, maybe halfway, and drove great.
